The reason this topic is worth my time (and this reason probably holds for some others) is that working your butt off to be able to distinguish yourself in our sport, no matter how slightly, is a source of pride. When someone violates the "rules of the game" by claiming a right to a time that hasn't been earned, it minimizes the accomplishment of those who have.
If Josh *implies* a 1:03-flat but only ran 1:04:01, then he's offending NOT ONLY guys who have run 1:03:00 to 1:04:00, BUT ALSO all guys (and girls) who play by the rules of engagement.
My PR is >2min slower than Josh's, but I'm no less entitled to call bullsh*t than a :59 guy or a 1:59 guy.
