17:35, but that was when I was 32. You should use an age-graded median for those of us that were late to consistent running.

19:46, age 45.
Seven years serious training (30-50 miles/week), weight 140, can mile in 5:12, but get progressively worse as I move out in distance. Not sure why. Too much fast twitch?
I posted the honest answer on the other thread, too. 16:35 in 1978 during my senior year in HS. Wasn't going to get much faster, didn't like speed training, loved going out for easy 15 milers. I still would if I didn't have the mother of all painful heel spurs on my left.
17:03, for now, spring is the season for high hopes.
19:47. But I think I can still beat that next year when I am 54.
16:54 when I was 42

Why?
12:37ish but I training really hard and hope to break that its from a few years ago.
All of you stink I am way faster than anyone on here.
18:40 at age 59
Never ran that far or anything metric (all yards and miles) in my younger, somewhat faster, days.
right now I can probably run a 23:00-24:00 minute 5K with no training!
The best I could do was 18:10 at age 32. It was off of about 15 miles a week of training though so maybe I should run more...The good thing is that 15 years later I can still run almost the same time from 20 miles a week.
A frustrating 16.02 (track) way back in 84 off regular 160km weeks. I tended to be the training hack and pacemaker for the top local women runners back then. I was pretty pleased with it as I was very much just a slow plodder who got really fit. I ran several other 16 lows as well. Other pbs inc 14.4 100m, 59 for 400, 2.06 800, 4.20 1500, 33.09 10k, 68.04 20km.
These days at 50 I'm happy to run low 19s in our trail 5s.
No one should feel any embarassment about their best times, 15 or 30mins it's your best good onya!
20:o6 at 55.
1:32 half.
5k is tough for us oldies.
19:45, but this was the Prospect Park loop. I was 34 years old at the time- maybe I could have done 19:30 on the flat. Legend has it that Khannouchi was up front dusting everyone with a fellow Morrocan. I guess I could dig this up somewhere in the NYRRC archives (not online)
4 days 6 hours and 13 min
I'm 49 and have never run a 5k race though I timed myself in training once to see if I could break 20. Couldn't quite make it. Best 10K race time - 43:20
