Phillies fans have been by far the dominant trash talkers on here. And rightfully so to this point.

OK, ERA difference between NL and AL was oversight on my part... but I still want to know what categories set the Yankees pitching above the Phillies.
??
Fewer hits allowed
More strikeouts
more saves
Look, Phillies fans keep saying their offense is much better. Fine, although I think saying they're even is more reasonable. Therefore, if their pitching is also better why didn't they win more games? Bad managing? I don't know, you keep saying Girardi's a horrible manager too. Weak schedule for Yankees? I'm skeptical there as the AL East had more total wins than the NL East, even discarding the Yankees and the Phillies.
It is nice that we've finally found some fans cockier than Yankees fans. Maybe they've earned it, the Phils are playing well to be sure.
Yeah, wouldn't that be a great upset? I kind of hope the Angels will pull through this one...
Fugetaboutit! Go Yankees! Yankees beat Phillies in 6! Angels have a nice winter in in SoCal!!
yeah right, im excited just cause my college is going to blow up, phillies vs yankees, there is going to be some huge fights going on and trash talking on my campus i cant wait haha
Will the teams fly, or go by chartered bus, or how about Amtrak? So many unanswered questions. Will Jeter give Rodriguez a ride down the New Jersey Turnpike?
Sup all you philly bitches.
First off, Yankees are the shit and everyone knows it. There is no other franchise in the world with the history they have. If you don't like the Yankees, get the hell out of America because we don't want you here.
Yankees win the series in 6 and when that happens America will turn itself around and take over the world once again.
CC Sabathia is 1-2 with a 5.55 ERA in four career starts against the Phillies, including a loss with Milwaukee in Game 2 of last year's NL division series.
Keep that in mind, Yankee fan.
The two most obnoxious teams in all of sports (players and fans)
The Yanks are going to win it all. The angels were to the yankees what the yankees were to the red sox going into the ALCS in 2004, beating them squarely was a huge statement as to how good of a team they are. I'm sure it will be a good series but unless the yanks have a huge meltdown I just don't see them getting beat.

I don't think that's entirely true. They're both old teams, so they have support that reaches well beyond the stadium walls. Opposing teams get a rude reception in Philly (as they should), but outside of the cities Phillie and Yankee fans are mostly just old school baseball fans that support their team and love the game. This will be a great series. Phils in 7.

Their pitching improved with the addition of Lee and Martinez in the second half of the season.
That and the blown saves is why the Phillies didn't win more games.
Their only loss to the Dodgers was when they pulled Pedro after he pitched 7 scoreless innings and they used 5 Philly pitchers in the 8th.
The World Series could be interesting in the late innings.
I agree, Lee is outstanding. Love watching him pitch. Through three guys, the rotations are pretty similar. Middle-relief is spotty for Yankees, but Rivera is better than Lidge to be certain.
Please let Pedro start game 2 in the stadium, I can't wait to hear the "Who's your daddy" chants as the Yanks hit him all over the yard and he realizes why he left the AL to begin with. It should be a good series, Yanks in 6 thanks to bullpen - the only place Brad Lidge blew a save last year was Yankee Stadium (granted it was the old one).

Unless I'm missing something, don't think this is right. Lidge blew a save against the Yanks this year at the new Stadium. Yanks didn't play Phils in 2008 (nor did Lidge blow a save that year).
I'm a Yank fan but I wouldn't say the pen is that much of an edge with Hughes struggling and Chamberlain erratic. Durbin and Madson can be effective. If Yanks win it will be because Sabathia and Pettitte handle the Philly lefty power.
Love the Phillies, hate the yankees, always have always will. Despite my hate for the yankees I am excited for the series either way because theyre 2 great teams and it should hopefully be one for the ages. As far as being called obnoxious fans its called pride and enthusiasm, and were damn proud of our team and our fans. Philly has been known for that for a long time, so no, we arent just jumping on the bandwagon.
CC vs Lee is going to be a very tight matchup imo, two of the most dominating pitchers in the league against the two most dominating offenses.
Phillies in 5. All yall don't know shit.

He was referring to last year's all star game fyi. And yes Lidge blew a save this year at Yankee Stadium, helping the Yankees avoid a sweep at the hands of the Phils.
Lidge blew a save last year in the All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium. That's why they started last year's Series in Tampa.
Lidge had zero blown saves last year in the regular season and playoffs.
