Vipam,
For are all you're enthusiasm, which I appreciate, you're logic doesn't add up. Does Analía Rosa really command any appearance money as a WXC team medalist? How much does she add to a meet? Or James Davis for his world indoor relay gold? Davis goes onto message boards saying how he can't get an entry to a track meet and you think that team medals command money? Team medals across all of athletics mean nothing, apart from personal satisfaction and split IAAF prize money.
An individual WXC medal would be of value but the chances of getting one are so low, lower than Ritzenhein's bronze on Sunday. That's why it's more lucrative to run the US road races in March than to cross several timezones for free. Have realistic expectations. Todd Williams has said repeatedly that the best race he ever ran was when he finished ninth at world cross. And it's tougher now, with ex-Kenyans running for Qatar and Bahrain.
