POINT IS:
It is great that you are proud of yourself for completing a race. Really, it is. But why do you need others (including complete strangers) to know about it?

Are there 21.1 and 42.2 stickers?
Yup. 63.3's too if you run both the half and full at Disney.
I've read all of the posts, and agree that more people running is a good thing, and you have every right to be proud of your accomplishments. But it doesn't change my original view that this is one oddball sticker. I have seen more and more over the months since posting originally. Honestly, who cares? So some guy designs a sticker and markets it to the local running store. People will buy anything, I guess, to make themselves feel special.

Is it just me, or do others think it is douchy to have ANY kind of bumper sticker or vanity plate? Whether it's your alma mater, political preference, or being proud of an honor roll student. You could have 26.2, 13.1, 5k or whatever. It's all an attempt to get people to notice you.
Look at me! Notice me! Please!!
Oh, and Disco Stu doesn't advertise!
Dude, it's all about the parking ! I have handicapped license plates and jog about 8 miles a week. However, i have exercised induced asthma and I qualified for Handicapped parking license plates. You wouldn't believe the stares and gawks i get ! I'm 31 years old and fat ,well by this boards standards 5-11 ,175lbs,(haha). The looks of envy when i pullup to the front door of a fine restaurant, concert, sporting event or shopping mall is well , priceless !
I have a DFL t-shirt and you should see the soccer moms' faces when I explain what it means. Hahahahahaha!
I heard Teg has a, "10K" sticker on his window. I bet he ran fast!
.5
I bet Bolt has a 1/16 sticker.
The man was a hurdler, jerk.
I have a 3.1 sticker
D'uh-oh. My first thought was it was a hurdle time, too.
This is why running will never gain popularity and prestige in this country. Because self-righteous people like you demonize anyone who participates in the sport that is not "elite." I got news for you buddy, the africans think you are a so incredibily slow when you run 2:20 but do they demonize you? Running is ane will continue to be the sport that people do when they aren't good at anything else until "fast" people embrace all who participate in their sport.

no, that's not why. but second, i don't think all of the people who piss you off are just making fun of slow runners. Well, I can't speak to your concerns with certainty, but regarding the 13.1 sticker, it's just stupid. As is the 26.2 version. Doesn't matter if a four hour plodder or Geb has it on the bumper.

Do go on, explain the logic behind this theory of yours.

so what if you "qualify" for a handicap sticker. That does not mean you should accept it.
I see that way too often. High blood pressure, arthritis, asthma. C'mon!! Those spots are for the very old and cripple.
Runners are excluders. We thrive off of knowing that other people can't understand our sport. But we get pissed when our sport gets no respect?!!?!
I used to be this way until I grew up. I ran in college although not super fast. (3:50/1:52/24:50) I used to think that everyone should worship runners because of how hard we worked. I used to sneer at guys running 5k's in 17:00 and 18:00 minutes. Then I grew up and now I coach. I realize that the more people you have involved in your sport the more they get how hard it actually is. I want joggers and people who are slow to try what we do and be proud of the fact that they completed something. Then, when they hear that I was finished when they were at the 5 mile mark, it makes them appreiciate the sport because I am not even an elite runner. This brings popularity to our sport and creates more opportunites for young runners. It just helps the sport in general. It's a step towards improving the health of our society. So quit bashing people for taking pride in what they have accomplished just because you don't agree with the way they express it. It's no different than someone buying a Kobe Bryant jersey. Do you see NBA players ridiculing people who buy thier jerseys and wear them around with pride? WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
Let's not turn people off to running!!!

My Dad is 89 and in a wheelchair. You'd be shocked at the people that are considered "handicapped" taking up parking spots.
Biggest offenders are fat people, who probably got them due to HBP or diabetes from their fat. Then the fat pigs walk into a store and take a motorized cart around to shop.
