I call BS on nearly half of these times. Is anyone else with me? Looks like a lot of old men with fuzzy memories. Like when my Dad told me he ran 43 for the 440 when he was in high school.
we have a 4:10.x - our school records are pretty strong - 1:50 for the 800, 46.x for the 400, and 9:07.x for a full 2 mile.

Since you responded to my post: the 4:11 school record was good for second place in the NY state meet in '76. Same guy won the state meet in '77 in 4:12 as a senior. Ran his 3:48 1500 in the semi of the junior nats in Knoxville that year.
3:55.3. Kansas, East HS, Wichita
Guy who used to be a congressman in my district did it back in the 60s. Still has more hair than the guy from Virginia who ran faster.

4:59? Really? Is your school just a year old or something?
