http://www.academyartathletics.com/But like, Chirchir and Lowe didn't do so well a year ago, like. And like, all the runners keep getting slower with Smith. And like, doing all their tempos at 5:36 isn't, like fast enough. So maybe OSU will finish around like 8th again, or like 15th or like 20th.
there was some kid in high school that ran in the college division. is that even allowed? seems kind of obnoxious that he would skip the high school race and go straight for the college division. granted, he ran a 25:49 and placed 86th. name was parker bowles.

ehhh I wouldn't read too much into OSU's finish here today.
They sat Vail/Fernandez and Chirchir and Girma both had off days. At full strength, Lowe is probably their fifth man, maybe their sixth if Chirchir ever gets back to form (remember he was like 15th at NCAA's a couple years ago). They will be fine.
somehow I doubt Colby is their 5th man.
Kosgei is their #2 guy (yeah, he's better than Vail), and he finished 1 second behind him.
IMO, It's something like Fernandez-Kosgei-Colby-Vail with a big ? on Joseph & Girma as of now.
yeah i think girma had off day or just tempo it......many guys do this to not peak too early.
and girma is more of a 10k guy so, OSU will dominate at nationals if they run at there best, even if they have average and still think they cure pull it off and win,
and lets face...northern Arizona guys are more of 5k racers then 10k just by looking and there guys i think there going to worse on a 10k race.

Vail has twice been all-american at the NCAA XC meet, and is a sub 13:40 5k guy. He was 21st last year.
Kosgei was 8th at NCAA a year ago.
German was a 3:55 miler, NCAA 1500 champ, and should be their top XC runner this year.
Girma was 16th at NCAA last year as a freshman.
Chirchir was 15th two years ago, but struggled last year.
Lowe has barely cracked 14:00 in the 5k and was 80th at NCAA last year.
Now, he could have made a huge jump between freshman and sophomore year and closed the gap on Vail, Fernandez, and Kosgei, but at best he's their fourth this year, and if Girma comes around, he'll be their fifth.
Spot on.
Lowe will be much improved, All-American this year, I'm guessing, but he will have a tought time cracking the top 20. They have five guys who have been top-16 in one of the last two seasons. That's tough to beat.

People keep bringing up Chirchir's 15th two years ago. Since then he has had a terrible outdoor season ('08), a terrible XC season ('08), another terrible outdoor season ('09), and now a terrible start to XC '09. Face it, for whatever reason he has lost it and will not be a factor at NCAAs. As a result the Cowboys are totally dependent on Kosgei, Vail, Fernandez, Girma and Lowe.
That's a great top five. But if one goes down to injury or illness then OSU is pretty much hosed. The gap from these five to the rest is huge.

OSU goes down!
So much for the Brojo's fellating OSU as #1 ranking...
I'm not sure I would call you a bunch... Perhaps just one.
If you cannot fathom that having your #1 and #3 out has an impact on the team then please save us the time of reading your drivel by ceasing to post.
OSU should be ranked #1 by anyone who follows the sport. Their only vulnerability is their lack of depth. If their top 5 are healthy come November then every other squad is racing for 2nd.

Did Girma lose over 50 seconds in the final 2K?
The Toledo women's win over William and Mary seems to have been a good one last week. From what I can tell, W&M only added two to their top-6 from team that lost to Toledo (#3 and #6). I'm happy for the Rockets!
