Glad to know you're open-minded. A lot of people are stubborn and stuck in their ways on here. No worries. Im open to all different methods of training, and believe strongly that one needs to find the method that works best for them. Myselfd, I tend to combine a lot of Daniels and Hudson's ideas to create my own schedule. Reading different ideas and incoporating them into my training through a trial and error approach is what keeps things fresh and interesting. I also believe variation is a big key to improvement, and sometimes find myself falling into the same routine week after week. Anyways, ya Ill check out tjhat book you suggested, thanks

that's a complete mischaracterization of what the guy actually said.

oh another one of us who loves jack daniels, even though you don't know what he said (see message above) as i am the one who knows everything about running because i do everything that jack daniels said. in fact i went pottie a few minutes ago and i ran at 180 strides per minute to get there and come back to answer your message. i hope you appreciate me sharing my great wealth if knowledge with you! even though i am not a good runner.

Somebody here is having a really hard time to accept that he sucks both as a runner and as a human being, so now his bitterness is on display on LetsRun, even though he tries to hide it behind stupid sarcasms.

good post. 800s have always been a key workout for me. To progress, I switch up the variables once in a while- do 10, or 6 with a longer recovery and run them faster. You could even run them at the same pace and go up to 6 x 1,000 meters or run them a little quicker and drop to 8 x 600. Then use your 8 x 800s as the key workout to see evaluate your progress which should translate to faster racing as your ave time drops.

I think an 800 measured on a flat stretch of road should be slightly faster than on a track assuming level grade and no wind.
