So if a Kenyon born and raised in the United States was America's premiere 5000m distance runner, would you root for him? Oh I forgot, only root for the white guys because their underdogs.

Its input you retard. Learn how to spell five letter words and then maybe you will be taken seriously. And yes if a kenyan born american raised athlete was world class I wouldnt consider him any different from ritz and teg.

Get real we root for people like Teg and Ritz because they are UNDERDOGS. Yes face it white 5000 runners are underdogs and there is no way any reasonable person can deny that.

Don't be a tool. I wasn't stating that I WOULDN'T root for Lagat. I have since he became an American by the way. I am just tired of seeing anyone who expresses a preference for Ritz or Teg automatically being labeled a racist. If a Kenyan born 5000 runner, raised in the US was representing the US, of course I would root for him. But make no mistake, as much as people want to scream racism, Studies have shown a genetic advantage for kenyans over whites of european descent. I would still root for the underdogs head to head.
I think I root for Lagat even harder because he is foreign born. By immigrating to the U.S. and becoming a citizen, he paid our country the ultimate complement.
He could have remained in Kenya and been a national treasure, a legend in the country's greatest sport. Instead, he chose the relative anonymity of the U.S. out of some love he feels for our country and the opportunities it offers himself and his family.

East African born athletes: 75
American born athletes: 3

Good question, Sure Hates-alot. I think that you probably beat off to your "numbers" every night. You just don't have it in you to genuinely give props to Ritz and Teg, do you? Oh, I think you're a dickhead, too. Good day.
P.S. #s does not need an apostrophe. That's just for starters.

bull
I seriously hate people like you. First off you throw racist allegations at brojos for the color of their links, and then you accuse the rest of us on the board of being racist for liking teg and ritz more than a runner who has only been an merican for a few years and who ran his best times for a different country. And then to top it all off you spell a simple word wrong and then rather than defend yourself you ignore my point and just write one word. Welcome to an adult argument. Here we use reason, not baseless accusations and one-word insults.

He's called a troll. Simmer down Clyde.
It's more legitimate when the American record is held by a real American, not a Kenyan who switched jerseys.
What I noticed was the top three were in blue not the white guys were in blue.
They placed links for the top three performers.
I don't see anyone having a black/white issue, maybe American born vs naturalized.
People rooted hard for Holman, Lassiter and Krum.
Right now there are no top native born black Americans in events over 800m.
I do wonder why Lagat has not made any attempts to run fast in recent years. I don't think he ran any Golden League 1500 or 5000m races.
