It sort of reminds of a mix of two things: Pre in the 72 Olympics in terms of not being intimidated at all of he's going up against. Problem is he ran total idiotic race even if it was courageous. Thats why I would then add David Wottle in the 800M of the 72 Olympics. Thats a race where Wottle fell so far behind that Jim McKay was wondering if something was wrong with him. But in fact that race had started at a furious pace and Wottle was just conserving his energy. He gradually moved up and passed people, then outkicked the leaders for gold when everyone else was dying.
