What is he going to do with Bekele after the 5k?
What is he going to do with Bekele after the 5k?
My first thought when I saw the mascot was to think it childish and to wish it hadn't been included in the meet. I have since found it to be the single most awesome part of these world championships. Whoever is inside that thing needs to make this his primary profession.
I have never in my life wanted to punch something in the head as much as I want to punch that mouse running around at that track meet going on right now.
News of the day is that Berlino is getting his own talk show after the championships. His ratings are projected to be 5 x Sean Hannity's.

That would mean that his ratings would be in the neighborhood of 20x that of Keith Olberman's tv show!
Sorry for the thread hijack- Back to the awesomeness of Berlino!

You suck.
I have to get a poster of that pic with him an Bolt doing his pose.
God....he or she is so funny...yes I too wanted to smack it at first for distracting me..but the bear is so funny...Just seen a picture in a Berlin newspaper showing it upside down on Hartigs back with its face buried up Hartigs arse...and running into the back of the hurdles truck whilst carrying the hurdles champ...hilarious...if only one of them could get an injury and sue the bear for loss of post Berlin earnings...now that would be funny...looking forward to it doing the relay!!
I too thought the bear was a joke at first but now think he is one of the biggest highlights of the meet. The hurdle incident was hilarious, but I still like the lightning bolt poses!
bear suits are funny
He's a great bear
The only good bear is a DEAD bear.
OUCH! Please don't tell me that bear died:(
I think the Germans have put the once adorable polar bear Knut to work in the Berlino bear suit.
Best mascot ever.

I recommend visiting this bear pit next time you're in Berlin. It's pretty cool, the bears are adorable, but it doesn't get that many visitors. Nice area too, right on the river and close to the best-preserved section of the Wall.
