No one in that final was clean. This is not just a Jamaican thing.

Drugs aside (I'm sceptical as well), here's a really interesting look at the German study of the events from Berlin:

Speeds, splits, comparisons, that sort of thing.
Tyson was brilliant, but bolt just untouchable. Even with doping, who seriously thought we'd be seeing 9.58s. One year and 2 days ago, it was 9.72...

Let's sit and try to grasp the moment and not speculate about the other stuff.
In the early nineties I asked a friend's future son in law who was then ranked seventh in the US in the hammer if he would make a run at making the Olympic team. Sitting in the stands at the Penn relays after he had competed he assured me that at 6'7 and 275 lbs. he would have to get into drugs in a big way if he had any hope of making the top three.
He also assured me that just about every top performer in every event at that meet was juicing.
By top performers, he was referring to the competitors in the open Olympic caliber events, not the students.

why? we know doping is rampant. we know the testing is a joke. so how can you not speculate about doping? are you the same kind of dope who would have said this about marion jones when she was the big star?
that aside though, bolt is a freak, and i can't imagine that he wouldn't dominate on an even playing field. obviously i could be wrong, but the way he can control that body length is pretty amazing.

Okay, so what he was saying was this:
I'm 7th, only 6 places away from 1st. Those 6 in front of me are only marginally better than me, and that margin is created by drugs. I am in fact the best.
Sounds like insecurity to me.
In the meantime i believe what i saw with my eyes.I saw a man run 100m in 9.58s.I saw another behind him run the same 100m in 9.71s.I saw thousands of people seeing what i was seeing.Until i see postive test results for illegal substances they themselves used, i believe what i saw with my own two eyes.No promises of afterlife here.I saw two men do what no other two men did before.

No. He was saying that after 5 years as an insider on a very top level div. I track program he had intimate knowledge of the system. Making a decision to enter graduate school rather than take performance enhancing drugs was actually the act of a secure and mature individual.
An insecure person who gained all his self worth from sports and had nothing else going for him would have done anything, including employing self-destructive means to chase that grail.
As fast as he is, Bolt should at least practice a little class. ACT like a champion, instead of acting like a child...
Ok im looking at this as a GB guy.... why is every 1 on here slaggin off bolt with the fact that his performance means he is on drugs... what about ur silver medal man!! He ran 9.71... this in itself would have been a WR a few years ago...and to do all this off injury!! yet you dont question gay to be on drugs.... if you ask me he would be the guy i picked out... yet i dont cos i like to hope they are all clean and untill proven, to me, they are!

why is Bolt now OVER FOUR TENTHS ahead of the fastest non-black guy in history ?!?!? ( I don't count patrick johnson, he is 1/2 black) Read that again: FOUR TENTHS!!
Because Bolt is juiced, while the fastest non-black guy is clean?
