Can anyone explain to me why I always cough after running in the cold? I?m fine when I?m running but as soon as I stop I get an uncontrollable cough for a few minutes and my nose suddenly gets really congested and runny. Is this caused by the dry air? Or just the cold? Last week I had a huge coughing fit (I was also little sick) after running so I went into a steam room and immediately felt better. A buddy who was an elite XC skier claims I have ?exercise-induced asthma.? Is there anything to this? Is there anything I can do to control this cough? This is never a problem in the warmer months, but recently temps have ducked into the 30s and 20s and the hacking has started again.
