i just ran a 5 mile road race 2 min per mile slower than last year. despite diligent cross training for 2 hours a day for the past 3 months of being injured. I've been running for 2 weeks now and my race pace is slower than my old training pace. this sucks man. i guess i didn't get my heart rate up enough on the bike and now i'm paying big time. i also gained 2 pounds. will i be able to get back in shape in time to compete the season for cross. i run d1 and was hoping to run some fast times this year. anyone been in a situation like this before?
