Goal Race: Chicago
Goal Time: 2:35-2:40
10 weeks out and I'm starting to hit some good mileage. Tough week to run here in CT, it was oppresively hot and humid and poured with rain several times.
M- Am: 4 easy, PM: 3 up +5x100m strides, 4 mile tempo in 23:48 (long course I think). Hilly and very humid, pace was a bit off, was hoping for 5:45ish but I just felt like junk. 3 down.
T- AM: 4 moderate, PM: 4 moderate
W- AM: 6 easy, PM: 11 pretty hard, 1:11
TH- AM: 4 easy, PM: 7 easy +10x100m strides
F- AM: 12+ in 1:21. , last 2 miles at ~6:15 pace. PM: 6 easy in the middle of a downpour.
S- AM: 9 easy in 1:07
S- 18 in 2:04 (6:53 pace). Ran progressively with 15.5 miles over hilly course and last 2.5 on treadmill immediately after. Slower than 8:00 pace for first mile, 5 miles in ~38 mins, 10 miles in 1:12:30, 15.5 mile loop done in 1:49, last 2.5 miles on treadmill at 6:00 pace. Was very humid and raining but felt pretty easy.
Total for week: 95 miles.
The humidity made it pretty brutal this week. The tempo run felt fine muscularly but the heat and humidity had me huffing and puffing and made it hurt pretty bad. Should be cooling off a little this week, which I'm looking forward to. Going to keep pushing up the mileage. Hope everyone else has a good week!
