Ok, this is not a troll attempt, a joke, anything like that. I have a serious problem that no one seems to understand and I'm going to quit running if no one can help me. This is no f***ing joke and I can't keep it secret any longer, I've had pathetically little success fixing it on my own. This problem has lasted 2 years, in every race from the mile to marathon. I've had 2 ok races and one so-so race, probably 11 fails and DNFS. So here's my problem:
In races I get a certain feeling that makes it so I can't run. In a marathon around mile 5 or 6, I start to feel nauseaus (like a post marathon feeling kind of nauseaus)and like my legs are full of lactic acid. My stride seems awkward and forced from the get go. It's all very unnatural feeling. Now, before you think its because I'm going out too fast, let me tell you this. I've ran 30 miles at 7:20 pace before, no pausing the watch at lights, nothing like that, as accurate as I could get the measurements I ran 30 miles. My problem only happens in races. In a marathon I have had this feeling running 6:30 per mile pace, 6:45 pace, 7 pace, and recently, 7:3x mile pace. It has nothing to do with pace. I've tried every relaxation trick in the book, I've tried listening to music, I've tried talking to someone while racing, I've tried racing in a pack, alone, mind drifting, mind on the race, even anxiety medication. I've recently noticed this feeling has began before races, a few hours before I'll feel my legs and arms get heavy, like I'm at altitude. I will divuldge more as this thread goes on.
So please, if anyone has ever heard of a problem like this, PLEASE let me know. I've never broken 3 and I'm starting to think this will never happen because of something I can't control.
