THE acceptable English accent which will guarantee access to any establishment, is the English public school’s (upper class) accent.
I notice that Americans are not taught that the British colonies of North America were "the lightest taxed, most liberally governed (in the classical small government sense), freest, most prosperous, and most equitable portions of the eighteenth century world."
But we got no thanks for that, only rebellion.
One only has to look south of your border to see what the USA would have become had you not been colonised by the British.
