Doubtful that WDs base salary was in the $1m range on the original contract. But, the rollover bonus (bonus $ that is added to base for the remainder of the contract) for a Olympic bronze in the 100 and 200 is HUGE (200K each?).
Would also make sense given the timing of the dispute with the agent. Agent probably wanted commission on the new base salary that included rollovers, WD said no way. -
I believe some of these agents and coaches are willing to roll these kids anyway then can. Jez, I got ahold of a gravy train!
