Really? Because I saw him break 7:30 three times in 2007:
7:26 in England
7:29 in Monaco
7:25 in Stockholm

You say if he runs 7:30 Lagat is out of it, well Bekele went under 7:30 on August 7th, 2007 which was right before the WC's meaning he was in peak form. Reality also shows that Lagat has never made a serious time attempt at 3k. Lagat has pr's of 12:59 and 7:33 and they were all run off a pace that allowed Lagat to win. Besides for the 1500, Lagat chases the competition not the clock.
Sorry, I will admit to being wrong here and I figured I might have gotten it for this. I made the mistake by going of iaaf and they only cover super prix, golden league, other major tours etc..again though, 07....right before WC's or right after while Bekele was still in top form. His injury set him back this year and I dont believe he is in 7:2X shape. ALthough one could agree with a poster from above who stated "Bekele rounding into form is still better then everyone else in the world" I guess we will see. Wouldnt surprise me though if Lagat went under 7:30 while people here are doubting that he cant.
