WOW, that's a great time. Does anyone know if he's racing in an upcoming Golden League meet?
That's the fastest 1500m for him since 2006, IIRC.
I can't can't CAN'T wait til he gets busted for drugs! I hate ppl who water the sport down...f*ck the evidence ppl that will come on stick up for him...santa exists too u whiny b*tches. Nothing against lagat personally but I HATE this cheating sh*t in athletics...
i'd bet all three of those guys are dirty cheating motherfckers

True that. Facts really get in the way of an intelligent argument.
How bout these for facts:
-its established that drug production is far more advanced than drug testing
-lagat has had "busts" in the past and muchos speculation to boot
-how bout the FACT that he ran like a slow ass b*tch a few wks ago in testing-america and runs that fast where?! Oh yeah, drug-ville
I shouldn't even bother posting but I hope the people who raise the speculation, allegations, and questions will cause a ripple...cause I'm almost as tired of the drug cheats as ignorant, annoying dreamers like you who think the world is a perfect, happy place and all of these ppl are clean. Funny that when speculations are brought up (running, cycling, bball, ftball, etc) they often-tend to be true...
...But you prob ably don't believe it so keep rooting for all of our ama-ng clean athletes!
(*the only disclaimer I have is that ill root for druggy lagat over another country's drugged up bastards...)
(** well, first I root that they ALL will get buSted, next I root for lagat-cheater...)

Yeah, 13:03 is practically walking. My grandmother could do that.
Right, I'm sure tesing was the same std at rbk where he was paid to be as it was us champs. He knows what he's doing though, so we'll see if he's flat/injured/mis-times his peak for WCs as he did for the olympics (how a seasoned pro/world champ does that I'm sure I don't know). Whateva
Here's a better question, which athletes do you think are clean and why do you think they're clean?
I believe it was "busted" once and in that case the handlers of the sample did a very poor job with his sample e.g. travelling around with it in the trunk of their car.
I do believe some people are cheating, I don't believe Lagat is one. I've met the man and he is a very humble man with a great work ethic and he's very appreciative of his talent.
Also he won Worlds last time around...
Lagat's clean. Give it a rest

You're wondering how a seasoned pro gets injured in an Olympic year? You must not follow the sport much, that's the most common time for injuries and overtraining.

Just to clarify, are you suggesting that drug cheats do enough drugs to win some Euro races in July, and then purposely lose at the major championships to throw off suspicion? What in God's name would be the point of cheating then?
Other 2007 world champs that didn't medal at the Olympics due to being flat/injured/whatever include Reese Hoffa, Tyson Gay, Dayron Robles, Liu Xiang, Donald Thomas, Brad Walker, Roman Sebrle, Maryam Jamal, Michelle Perry... there's tons beside Lagat. It's a highly competitive sport, failing to medal doesn't prove anything...
Yes, USADA was at the Reebok meet. Lagat, a top three finisher, was subject to testing. Your conspiracy theories are baseless.

So what's the theory here...a 2007 double World Champ intentionally gets injured, or fakes it, so he doesn't have to be to tested at the Olympics?
Is this theorist under the impression they did NOT test at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka?
You kookie kids.
So what about his "false positive" EPO test. Didn't the test designer say a false test is impossible?

The test designer is a liar.
Any test designer will tell you that there are false positives. It's the nature testing. This was settled in the scientific community about 100 years ago, and anyone who says otherwise isn't being truthful.
By the way. Those would be the most incredible drugs known to man if he were able to take them so that he runs a world class time two weeks after running an average time. It has always seemed to me that Lagat runs for place and not time. With the exception of the 1500 he does not have great times, but his record is impeccable. That is probably the cause of the relatively slow 800's that he ran, not this conspiracy theory that he is only taking drugs for European meets. It's not like heroin or something that you can inject and ten minutes later you feel the effects.
