Yesterday was a "truce", from their usual lollygagging around.
And today is....... a rest day!
That truce has an average speed of 24 mph....just a casual stroll through Spain....

I can't tell if you're being sarcasatic, but 24mph is nothing for these guys. Hell, I can hit that on my own.

For 4 hours? The solo world record for 100 miles is 4:11. Maybe you should give it a go.

Ever ridden up a mountain before with a bunch of genetically (and possibly chemically, in an artificial way) gifted guys who've all been professionals since they were 20 years old?
Similar to seeing Kobe making a 3-pointer.. and saying "I can do that too."

Are the guys in the Tour riding solo? Here's what wikipedia says:
The fastest road stage was the 1999 stage Laval-Blois (194.5 km), won by Mario Cipollini at an average speed of 50.355 km/h.
So compare 25mph to 31+mph -- huge difference. Obviously it depends on the terrain, the size of the pack, wind, etc., I was trying to make the point that the speed alone doesn't tell you how hard it is, and I'm only responding to you because I'm annoyed, so you've done a good trolling effort.
Also, this says the record is (was?) 3:23, although I have no idea where to look for that kind of thing:

The Tour is always quieter between the two major mountain ranges. Today, they were cautious because of the race radio situation, tomorrow is another chance for a break, and there should be plenty of green jersey positioning as well.
I didn't think today was all that bad. It's a stage for the sprinters and it came down to a sprint. I wish someone would have challenged Mark a little better, but it was still a pretty good finish. I liked Lance's interview where he said Mark would win and they should just skip to the next day. Pretty funny. Stage 15, 16, and especially 17 should be more exciting for the GC riders. But in the mean time, we get to enjoy some great sprint finishes which are still exciting.

You are correct that speed alone doesn't tell you how hard it is. I was trying to make the point that while most of us could spin a bike up to 24 mph easily, sustaining that over 100 miles, in a peloton or not is a different story. Take for instance the results from the most recent Tour de Tucson, a charity ride that attracts its share of semipros and occasional pros (Landis finished 4th one year).
http://www.perimeterbicycling.com/!ETT/ETT08Results/ETT08-FS.html. Only 22 people finished with an average of 24mph or better, and most of them are good local Cat1/2 guys or Mexican Continental pros. Thus, the original premise that 24mph over an admittedly slow stage is still silly fast for most people stands.
As for the 100mile world road record, Google gave me this:
http://www.ultracycling.com/records/100mileroad_record2005.html, but later shows the same individual breaking the 4 hour mark
http://www.ultracycling.com/records/mileagerecords.html. Obviously the link you provided is somewhat faster, but 3:23 is an almost unbelievable time for a solo 100mi TT. Perhaps he was in a recumbent?
......And AC dominates Lance again today. Lance looked weak the last time Contador attacked, not sure why some of you thought that this time would be different.
