There was a thread hinting at this topic the other day but I thought I'd start a more official one.
I think one of the problems with running is it's impossible for fans to keep up with their favorite athletes as there are a ton of athletes but no central database for fans to find out what is going on with them.
If we here at LRC can't keep up, how is the average fan supposed to.
Olympians can just not show up at USAs and no one knows where they are as USATF doesn't keep up updated on their status.
What are the following runners up to? What is their injury if they are injured? When will they come back?
Please add other prominent names to the list.
Ian Dobson
Alice Schmidt
Tiffany McWilliams
Lauren Fleshman
Others?
Big Names MIA at USA? Where are they?

Fleshman had a foot operation and was off for a long time. She's back running but wasn't ready for USATFs. We'll see her next year.
I heard Schmidt had some kind of stress fracture. -
Bobby Curtis?

Saw McWilliams at a 10k in Mississippi a while back - think she ran 37 something. Think she did several of those over the spring.
Have heard that several of the guys skipped to focus on the US road 10k champs at Peachtree - hope they show this weekend. -
UA from USA's were:
Robert Johnson
Weldon Johnson -
Fleshman gave updates on her Twitter.
So many other athletes, though, no idea. What about Adam Goucher? Salazar listed him in the 10,000 in a statement to oregonlive.com not long before the race, and he was qualified, but he never declared. I'm curious if he's hurt again, or just hadn't gotten his fitness back to where it needed to be yet. -
I didn't see either David Oliver or Anwar Moore, they both looked REALLY good last year..
Also, WTF happened to Andrew Rock? -
they all gave up the stupid pipe dream of beating the africans and got real jobs. They are finally living life with freedom and hapiness.-how dare you try to drag them back into the destructive life of "run for fun" distance running.

All the people I listed were sprinters...maybe you meant Rojo's list...
As an aside, I just re-watched what happened to Anwar Moore at the 2008 OT, and it totally sucks...I wouldn't be surprised if he retired..
(while clearly in 2nd or 3rd, he inexplicably tripped AFTER the last hurdle, as in, he cleared it, and then tripped on the landing...his ankle rolled or something)

Quality 400 runners:

Instead of making me watch the interview, wouldn't it be easier to summarize it one or two sentences adn then say "full interview here:"
There is a reason we dno't do a lot of video interviews. They take too much time to watch. -
That's too bad ... based upon demonstrated performance listening to you all during the USATF Champs you could learn a lot about how to color commentate on a race from the FloTrack studs. They're in the trenches of this sport!
