NAU!!! you heard it here first
dang... i just started a similar thread... could have just posted on yours.
I say chelanga wins easy
I say Derrick gets Fernandez over the last 1k
I predict Mcneil is the only one to go out close to Chelanga... not with him but like Rupp did last year.
anyway... excited to see how it plays out. so excited and its so far away still!
Oregon FTW, Chelenga either wins by a lot, or goes out too hard thinking he's got the field beat from the gun, and fades badly. Derrick most likely to pick up the pieces. Fernandez injured by mid season, still gets top 10 after super conservative start to the race.
Oregon with 3 in the top 10... and beats Washington!
Individual
1. Chalenga - Liberty
2. Fernandez - OSU
3. McNeill - Northern Arizona
4. Derrick - Stanford
5. Puskedra - Oregon
6. Kosgei - OSU
7. Kyle - Colorado
8. Mesecho - Auburn
9. Kipchumba - Portland
10. Steeds - Georgia State
Team
1. Oregon
2. Oklahoma State
3. Auburn
4. Stanford
5. Northern Arizona
6. Portland
7. Colorado
8. Wisconsin
9. Iona
10. New Mexico
Mead's gonna steal it!
Shouldnt a team have made nationals once in the past two years to be pre-season ranked in the top 10
NAU looks good wrote:

Bumbalough? Mead? These guys should be top 10.
Oregon will miss Rupp and Shadrack.
Portland loses 1,5,6,7 to graduation, and won't be replacing that low stick with any of these incoming frosh THIS YEAR. Dunbar comes in with an immediate impact, but anyone else? Still leaves only four in a five card game.
Explain how they are sticking in the top 10!
My pick for the win-Stanford. Derrick, Heath, Riley, Gregg, and any of the other freshman that they had redshirt the past year (ben johnsen, incoming graham bazel). Cardinals ftw!
new mexico has some talent...
last year they were ranked 15th preseason... but then they didn't make nationals.
until they place top 3 at prenats they should not be ranked top 20.
they are capable of it no doubt... but they haven't performed in an xc meet in a while.
John Killian SR N. Arizona 9:01.78 W 04-1645
Ben Ashkettle SO N. Arizona 13:59.67 W 03-2729
Diego Estrada FR N. Arizona 28:54.60 W 04-16
Ahmed Osman FR N. Arizona 28:56.41 W 04-16
AND of course David McNeil. Tell me NAU isn't top 3 and I'll call you a liar ;)
Not sure who Auburn is going to lose (if anyone) with the coaching change but if they do they could be in a for a fall
rumor has it that girma is headed somewhere "NORTH"/ thats all i can divulgs for now

With teams like Oregon, Ok State & Stanford (and Arkansas could be a sleeper, is Forrest gone?) it's hard crack in there. NAU could be a darkhorse though.

Killian is done with eligibility.
Forrest is gone as well as Strang. Ark not in the running.
I like Stanford's chances.
No Badgers in the top 3? They will be much improved for sure! Look for them to challenge for the win.
Pretty sure Arkansas losses:
Strange, Forrest, Macpherson (right??)
Ulrey can run, they will have Haile (wonder how he will do?)
Still not enough... Haile seems to be really the only longer distance oriented runner they recruited.
Oklahoma State redshirted some guys, like Ryan Prentice.
Lose only Vail if I'm correct. Colby and Fernanedz will make a great impact next season again (two sub 5kers), plus Kosgei who finished 7th last year. Should be a pretty strong top 3, assuming Colby improves a bit, Fernandez places, and Prentice does decent. Will have to see the rest of the squad however.
Oregon... is loaded with milers and the sort. Don't know how they will manage without two of their top runners, but they still have Puskedra and a huge talented team, so it will be pretty hard to beat them unless other teams make huge stride.
Course, not many teams can do something like team B in this scenario.
Stanford and Wisconsin are two teams I would definitely keep an eye on. Both look like next year they will be a threat also depending on recruits as well.
It's Strang, not Strange. And MacPherson has one more cross season.
Oregon's loaded with great middle distance...will the Mercados and Klotz run better this year?
