5 events right there... what if she won all of them at Nats? She might be able to win the team title by herself! How epic would that be?

Could Barringer win every distance race at the NCAAs from 800 to 10k?
no

Very epic, but no
Well she has to run prelims for everything except the 10k. Let's look at it this way... so what if she runs a 9:35 or so steeple? That should be enough to win (though Nicole Bush is up there and could step it up) and not be an all out effort. She could go easy in the prelims too.
Then, in the 5k, she could try running around 15:30 to take the win and cruise the prelims.
In the 1500, she could also cruise the prelims and could probably win in like 4:06... possible right?
Well this would take a lot out of her... I think the 800 would hurt her the most.
But Jenny Barringer is quite possibly the best American distance runner right now, she should go pro (she could get a hefty contract) and not waste time in the NCAAs..
Yes she could if she was entered in each race and finished first in each race. She could also win the high jump if she jumped the highest. She would also be the richest if she had the most money. There are many, many possibilities.
She could do it, but only if they completely rescheduled the meet for her. So no.
Barringer has speed but not THAT much. I think she said she was happy when she ran a 57 split on a 4x400 team. She could not beat the likes of Geena Gall, Phoebe Wright, and Latavia Thomas!

Yep. A better question to ask is is Jenny the best 800, 1500, 3k steeple, 5k, and 10k runner in the NCAA, which is probably yes (has she run any 800s or 10ks?) However, like some have pointed out, there is no way in hell she could win all at NCAAs because of the scheduling.
I don't think she could win the 800... she doesn't have that sort of speed, refer to my previous post.
And how does the scheduling work? She might have an hour or two between each event...
Based on seeing her ability to kick these past 2 years, I'd say she has enough speed to outrun those girls. That 2:04 she did a while back looked rather easy.
2:04? Results?
Willard just ran 1:59, and Barringer appears to be the superior 1500, 3k st, and 5k runner (though slightly), so I would assume she's capable of at least a 2:02.

Very reasonable
NO, and I'll give you 1 second!
Jenny Barringer could have a week rest between any race and the open 800m and she would not have been able to beat the Michigan runner who ran a 2:00. High Schooler's there's a big difference in finishing strong in the 800 as compared to a 1500m finish. National caliber 800 meter runners have more explosiveness than most 1500m/3000m/5000m runners.
How many of you ran track?
If you ran track you had middle distances and distance runners each type of runner had their strengths and weaknesses.
Jenny is a strength runner and her only way of winning an 800 with any of the women who qualified for the finals in the 800 is if she ran a very fast 600 and was able to separate from the field and that still wouldn't be a guarantee. The women would go by her like Wheating closed in the trials!
She probably couldn't have beaten Geena Gall in the 800 in any case, no matter what the schedule.
If you can break 4:00 for 1500m, you have to be able to run close to 2:00 for 800, if not under 2. I think she could definitely run 1:59-2:00 ish.

Amen. If you think a 3:59 1500 runner can't run better than a 2:02 or so you are crazy.
I've only ever known one runner who broke 4:00 that couldn't break 2:00. He ran 2:01, but was also an 8:25 3km runner. I doubt he could break 58 in a 400. JennyB isn't that much of an aerobic freak. She would run 1:59-2:00

She could get a hefty contract in a year too. Maybe a better one because the shoe companies arent doing great right now.
She isnt wasting her time. She is enjoying herself and getting an education for free. She likes running for Colorado and wants to do so as long as eligibility lets her. If she is running fast and enjoying herself, I dont see how she is wasting her time. Going pro now and skipping xc would be pointless because between Worlds and December, what else is she gonna do?
What do people think is the most impressive set she COULD do?
I say steeple plus ONE of 1500, 5k, 10k.

False, the only way for a runner like Jenny to win is to go out behind everyone else and maintain her pace. You are crazy if you think going way out in front of everyone for someone like Jenny would be the best course of action. If jenny went out in a 56-57 for example she would be tapped and hurting pretty quickly. She'd be much more suited to go out in 60-61 and hold it. Being a strength runner does not mean you can go out at your all out pace and then hold on. The people with more speed would get away with a fast first lap more as their max 400 differs more from their average 400 in an 800 race. Going out in 57 for someone like Gena Gall would not put her past her threshold very quickly. Going out in 57 for Jenny B would put her overher threshold and she would die off much quiker.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
