I agree. It just amazes me that people are so naive as to believe everybody is clean. The stop watch is the best indicator of who is clean and who is not.

Just because they are Americans you think they are CLEAN? seriously? What is Jenny B now the 3rd under 4 minutes? ..... Who else did it... Marry Decker and Regina Jacobs? we all know they were drug cheats
The plyometrics of hurdle training and the ballistic nature provide explosiveness and add to speed training. Perhaps all 1500m runers should train for the steeple.
Her reaction at the end is so Jerry Blank-ish from Strangers With Candy.
Nice recruiting ad for Colorado on NBC today.
video?
No one with a brain thinks that people don't cheat. But the stopwatch is just one part of the equation. It's one thing when you watch a woman go from 11.3 to 10.8 over several years. It's another when they do it in eight months.

Haha! Actually what you're trying to say is "Hey everyone look at me, I am the best indicator of who is clean!!!!!! lol omg wtf!"
Please do tell us the limits of human speed and endurance which only you know about, and that prove anyone faster is a drug cheat.

because killer finish won't help if you are 50+m behind at the bell in globals won in 8'58/9'05
the event doesn't require 3'59 speed, it requires 8'30 endurance
Actually, the anaerobic demands of the steeplechase makes it more similar to the 1500m than the 3000m in terms of a training approach.
I don't think you understand: ventolin uses apostrophes when he writes times, he is very smart.

Well what do YOU think is a better indicator??
I only read the update thread and thought the criticisms were run of the mill complaints. I just watched the video and you are all vindicated! My God... photo finish with maybe the best 1500 meter runner in the world, obviously sub 4, and he says hmm must be awfully close to 4:06. Then they don't even acknowledge that she got it! A casual viewer must have thought her strange for celebrating 2nd so much. Secondly, they looked like a pack full of flourescent bees! Absolutely embarressing. At least make a couple different versions of the nike look. Just wow
Was the track short?
How were so many american girls able to run so fast?
I sort of agree that Barringer should consider running the 1500m at USAs if it isn't too late. I mean, if you can almost beat the best 1500m runner in the world (Burka), and perhaps only don't because you started your kick a moment too late, don't you think she has more hope in the 1500m than the steeple?

She decimated the Collegiate Record of 4:06.80 held by Hannah England of FSU as well. I was surprised the commentators didn't seem to have a clue what the record was and had no idea she was in the race and doing so well.
Actually, they did. Lewis Johnson mentioned the record was 4:06. He also said "Barringer might be close to breaking the record" after she had clearly finished in 3:59, so he doesn't get much credit for it.
How good is her steeple form?
They did mention it, but Barringer's CR was by far the story of the race, and they made it seem like no big deal. Instead of, "Whoa, she just smoked the record, broke four, is still in college, is an olympian, etc." all they did was list the finishers. They don't know enough about relevant times and as such should not be commentating.
Right, they probably did 10 minutes of prep for the event. Willard was the focus since she's the Nike pro in the event that's been on fire of late, plus Flanagan the bronze queen in Nike gear was in the race. I bet, if asked in that moment, none of those announcers could come up with any of Barringer's accomplishments this year from previous to today.
Someone update her Wikipedia page!
Because she wanted to be the top American in her event. No way she would go head to head with Flanagan. It was so sweet to see the ever improving Yoder-B kick her ass. I would have liked to see Rhines hit a good one.
Honestly, is Hall running slower than she did in college? Has she improved at all. Has she just decided that Ryan is more important and so has taken a supportive roll?
