Erin Donahue ran 4:06 slightly ahead of Flanagan...
Willard great race...
but JENNY BARRINGER WOW!!!!!!
You can count the number of American women who have gone sub 4 on one hand... Mary Decker-Slaney, Ruth Wysocki, Suzy Favor-Hamilton... and now JENNY BARRINGER!!!!!!!!!!
Commercial two minutes into the 3K SC...
Oops, no Ruth Wysocki I think

Actually, the mention was, "She had to have been close to that CR of 4:06".
Ya think?
That quote is so indicative of US T&F announcing, especially in the distances. No shit guys, get a clue.
great race by all american women. hope the guys can do the same
gotta love the 12 threads that ignored this official thread... all of them just saying "BARRINGER WOW!"...
Props for a GREAT race i really thought she had Burka (spelling, sorry)
Jenny B!!! That was the greatest womens collegiate performance I have ever seen. Amazing.
OK - The networks have managed to adapt to soccer's lack of commercial breaks... Why the hell do we have to go to commercials in the f'n steeple! Do an f'n split-screen if you have to - f'n ridiculous!
That deserves more than a MENTION.
Those announcers are so smitten by Burka, they looked over one of the greatest performances by a collegiate girl... ever. Why was it not brought up BEFORE the race? Why were the announcers not screaming down the homestretch like all of us were? Why does distance running not get the respect that sprinting does in the US?
Because we have these tools commentating and not knowing what in the hell they are watching.
correction... including this one... 19 threads on Jenny B i believe...
Phillips jumped 28-08
Kemboi apparently was a scratch. 20 seconds into the race and it reminded us an uncompetitive women's race as the rabbit and top two runners were 10 meters up on the Americans. The quest for a sub 8:00 is on. 5:20.78 at 2k.
I do hope Barringer goes pro after all of this. She'll definitely improve the women distance on the international stage. But what event will she focus on?
Isn't Sally Kipego running today as well?
And yes, PLEASE DON'T PUT EVERYONE IN THE SAME DAMN UNIFORM!!!
The commercials for Pre on NBC is one reason why Track and Field sucks.
Nikerunning...why did they have to censor it so much?
Nutralite...take two pills to get the equivalent of daily serving of fruits and veggies....damn, why didn't Tony Fam just take pills...

That would be logical. Along with things like getting announcers that know the events and athletes. Don't expect that with track coverage in the US!
Paul Koech smokes the field in the 3K SC, 8:13.43
If anyone is interested in the SC. Koech is pretty much running his own race, no one near him. Just finished in 8:13 Mcadams 3rd Watson 4.
wish fam was in this steeple. he loves pre. no love from nike meet i guess.
