Hate to be that guy, but the odds just aren't exactly with him on this one.
I hope he gets it all the same.

Lagat will get it.
7:27.5
Lagat 7:27
Kipchoge
Shaheen
Sihine
Teg 7:32
I have a friend running the 3km B race tonight. Does anyone know the link to where the results will be posted so I can view them? Any help would be great. Thanks
Presume they will also post B results
Teg's 2mile converts to a 7:30.99 using the standard "X/1.08" and I think Lagat is in better shape now that Teg was when he ran his 8:07 so I think there's no question that Lagat CAN get the record. However, in a loaded field like this often when the rabbit drops out everyone gets scared to lead and the pace drops to what would be pretty good for a high schooler. Hopefully the meet is willing to pony up big bucks (relatively speaking) to have the rabbit take them deep, deep enough that by the time he drops out those with the long, drawn-out style of kicking will be itching to make their move.
Very good point. However, I think the field is deep enough that at least one of the stars will attack from further out rather than risk being buried the last 100(lots of good kickers), and finishing in a both a slow time and a poor place. The Kenyans and ethiopians certainly don't travel all this way just to sit and kick, and sight-see, right? I am sure they are looking for a good time.
What is more probable Lagat getting the AR or Webb winning his race?

Lagat will get it. BK will lose this record, and later this summer his 5k record. Lagat will own 1.5/5/10.
I can't see Teg going much faster than 7:35.
agree there!
