I was just wondering if anyone knows what knowing your VO2 MAX is good for. I just had mine done at a hospital and it was 66%. It was on a treadmill and was set at 9mph with a grade that reached 12.5% before I tapped out. I ran for 14 min. I am 26 and have pr's of 4:05 mile and 14:15 5k. I am looking to improve my running in any way (legally). I understand the importance of mileage but tend to get injured when I do more than 80 a week. My question is: is VO2 Max a true predictor of performance and does anyone have suggestions for for what kind of workouts I might try to have a breakthrough this upcoming year?
