I've lost the link, but the quiotes were ala:
"It's not out of the question" "This years it is all about the team and trying to get the triple crown."
This kid is a team runner and a class act. He seems to really enjoy running for the team / school spirit. It is great to see. It seems like he and Centro and Wheating all truly enjoy racing.
Centro, again ran a fast race and won...looking relaxed at the finish. He looked a little more taxed than in his past few races, but didn't seem thrashed or spent at the end. It is scary. His smoothness reminds me of his dad, only he is smoother, and has better form than the old man! It is really a privilege to watch this kid calmly go out and run fast or slow races and win. The past few months, he just runs, and wins, any kind of race. Very competitive guy, enjoys it and it shows. Cool stuff. I wonder if he can PR again this year?
Wheating doesn't seem to be pressed this year so far. I wonder what he's got up his sleeve, what he has planned for the summer... It would be great if he unleashes a sub 1:45 low to win the NCAA's.
Well the regionals were all about qualifying, and it all means nothing if they do not deliver in a few weeks. It sounds from some of the quotes that the athletes think the Oregon coaches have done a great job setting them up to continue improving at NCAA's.
Exciting times ahead!
