UMass men's team is an abortion. The "track & field" team is basically a very large cross country team. Unless you are a distance runner, you're wasting your time because you'll get no support at UMass.
They would have been better off giving up indoors so that they could have a larger, more complete outdoor program with a better schedule. In New England, they could still do a ton if indoor meets unattached for competition.
Perhaps this is why they seem to turn over assistant coaches damn near every year?
