Now we just have to find out if someone was helivac'd off the toe path and then we will know that this AJ scandal is just a reprise of the Kochman incidents of the late 90's.

Tillman was big east champ earlier in that year. i think he never broke 2:00 after that. then at bucknell after winning the open 800 he had a heart attack during the relay and finished in 2:09.
I don't think he ever won the open 800. And I thought he had the heart attack at Delaware, not Bucknell.
I'm not sure he was in 2:00 mode anyway before that. He was losing to Joe O at that point...a sad way to end a career that began as the next Heff.

Wow this story sounds oddly like Kochman's. He received several stitches after getting in a fight with a palm tree in Gainsville.
I think Kochman got stitches after getting hit in the head with a pot at a soccer game. And getting his teeth knocked out at Senior Week.
He only got crazy glue in Gainesville - and the doc glued his forehead to his nose.
It probably had to do with who supplied who the alcohol. It really shouldn't matter, both underage drinking and supplying alcohol to a minor are criminal offenses in Oregon. Both should be suspended from the team.
Oregon situational ethics will kick in and they will soon blame someone else for their mistakes.
He ran 1:59 to will the Delware Invitational open 8, following in the footsteps of several georgetown greats like Gavin McKelvy. He followed it up with a 2:09 relay carry while cluching his chest in obvious pain.
Well, they kept it undercover for almost 2 weeks. It was a good effort. Now it's gonna be everywhere.

Why is Luke not suspended? is it not against Ncaa rules to drink in season? Not to mention he's underaged?
Against NCAA rules to drink in season? What, are you f***ing kidding me? What kind of pussy program did you go to.
sounds like they enjoyed their success in college station.....aj cops the fall whats the bet rupp/wheating and co were also under the influence?
Or worse, like he took a swing at Puskedra.
AJ is a loose cannon. It is good that they suspended him indefinitely.
And he never did much in XC at Oregon anyway.
Here is the deal.
AJ has been underachieving for 2 years. He will be of no help for the Ducks during Cross. His attitude and behavior need a huge adjustment. Oregon used this situation to try to take care of AJ. If this results in a change in attitude, then it was successful. If not, Oregon lost nothing and come across as looking strong.

I know right. When I was at indoor nationals Andrew Wheating was piss drunk walking around our hotel. I'm sure they would never suspend him Welsome to the BS world of Oregon
Why would you suspend a 1:44 Olympian? Double standards exist, deal with it
Alcohol is only banned in NCAA rifle competitions!
I wonder how many other schools have situations like this that we don't hear about.
This is actually good for Oregon, it is an opportunity for Vin and company to clamp down hard on the team about college drinking.
...It is kind of funny the take all you immature "Oregon Haters" have... Like there wasn't and isn't massive amounts of drinking going on at most schools.
High School and College drinking is where most adult alcohol problems begin.
I am certain Vin seized this as an opportunity. It sounds like it was a second or third time offense kind of thing. I am sure they had a fully hearing out of the situation and took appropiate action.
To the idiots here, you have to know how coaches and admin deal with this stuff. AJ probably had some other warnings. Luke, it was probably a first offense type thing.
I can tell you a fact, they do give warnings in college, not summary executions for drinking offenses.
As another poster commented this could be the best thing that happened to AJ - a wake up call.
I couldn't imagine this happening at Liberty.
Whoaaaaa forget Oregon haters here come all the Acosta haters! Loose cannon my ass, he did what every other college kid, runner or otherwise does...gets involved with alcohol. Stop crying.
You have it exactly right, and it looks like Vin did a good job in sending a tough message to AJ. The only thing that I don't get is how the Oregon Haters have such a problem with reading comprehension. Who ever said that Puskedra was drinking? Read the article: "But the athlete confirmed what other sources on the team have already told the Daily Emerald, that the San Diego, Calif., native was suspended three days after a May 2 incident in which freshman distance runner Luke Puskedra was taken to the hospital for stitches after an alcohol-related incident". An "alcohol related" incident says nothing about who was drinking. It's like someone's car gets run into by a drunk...it's an alcohol related incident. Oh by the way....Oregon cleaned up at the Pac 10 championships today without AJ. Both men and women set all time Oregon records the the number of points that they scored in the Pac 10 Championships. They not only cleaned up in the distances but also won the women's Javelin, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, Long Jump and 400 meters. The men won the Javelin, swept the 1500 and on and on. Oregon has become the track and field powerhouse of the country.
pretty sure "alcohol related incident" means both were under the influence...didnt you ever go to college?
PRETTY SURE YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT IT MEANS. ASS..UMING THINGS LIKE THIS SHOWS YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE.
umm maybe its because luke is underage... Of course they arent gonna throw there man under the bus
