hesch went right to the front like he was rabbitting, and stepped off after about 300 meters. what was that about?

It looks as if Webb is a no show again.
Does he even care about running amymore?
Webb was never on the start list
i'll bet webb could have been in the mix, just don't think he'd have the speed that lagat and brannen showed. brannen was impressive, especially of of that injyury
Was he possibly involved with the Lukezic mishap?
Webb's beaten Van Der Westhuizen twice this year, so it's safe to say he could've been 3:37-38 in this race (just ahead of Peter and Lopez).
I think he's on the right track...when will he be going for the A standard? Lagat and Lomong already have theirs.

He ran 3:35 in Heusden last year.
Leo's AWESOME! Even a few bad races don't DQ you from greatness. He will be there when it counts. You Leo-bashers are the same grumblers that will jump back on the bandwagon within a month, after Leo pops a solid race. You were the same Lagat-bashers who later wept at his feet after Lagat won the World Champs... Let's BACK our guys, & have a little faith in Leo.
Leo-Bashers = Webb-Bashers = Ritz-Bashers = Hall-Bashers = etc.
It's all the same group of pessimistic band-wagon punks
From that pic I would say his shoes don't fit so good, way too wide.

When talking about Leo Manzano you should keep in mind that this is only his first real season (Other than last summer) as a professional runner.
Sure there are a ton of milers better than he is right now. People appreciate Leo for a reason, usually he's pretty tough and has showed an amazing amount of talent.
Wait a few years.
The last time Leo amazed me was his victory as a frosh in the 1500. Since then he's just gotten better at beating collegiates and B milers.
Lagat, Webb, and Lomong are better when they're on their game. An opinion.
3 Van Der Westhuizen, Pete R S A 3:38.29
He's been having a very good season.
manzano will be back. laget is a cheater
Compared to the world's best Manzano is mediocre. However, he can beat up on B level talent. I would say he is not even as good as Seneca Lassiter was.
At least Lamong has a 3:53 mile PR, which at least makes him as fast as Myers.

Agreed. This race was indirectly a good sign for Webb, as he has beaten this guy with ease in both races. My first thought seeing Van Der Weshuizen up front was that Webb should have a good year.
So let's say he could've been right behind Brannen.
If he gets that thunderous kick from '07 back, he'll be right back where he needs to be.
With Ramzi busted and Willis wounded, medal chances for 2 Americans are looking bright. But again, it's only mid-May...

A South African runs a 3:38 1500 in Los Angeles in May. Therefore, it follows that an American whose best performance this year is a 3:57 mile has "bright" medal chances. Got it.
