While the Dartmouth fans were mentioned in the flotrack video/Wyner interview, it's important to realize that it was more than just the Dartmouth fans that were booing - although they obviously played a part in it. In addition, the round of applause following the announcement of the DQ involved virtually all of the fans.
Honestly, when I watch Wyner's celebration, it doesn't strike me as one of genuine excitement but rather as a bunch of gestures that are frankly insulting to his competition. This absurd celebration is what caused the booing, and in turn, the bow and DQ. He's a great runner and I feel very bad that he's losing his title, but I'm going to have to agree that he deserved this DQ.
