What would be two of the best sessions to do before peaking for an 800m race?
I was thinking maybe an 800m pace workout (200s??) followed by a 400m session (150s?)) several days later?

do 4days before last moderate hard workout like some fast 150-200`s at 400m pace with good recovery + 1-3x800-1000 at 90-100% of vo2max just to get right muscle tension and some natural blood volume boosting (not by blood transfusion) at race day. last remaining days just short easy runs with strides at 1500-800 pace. important thing not to overdo this last workout, just enough so that you can easily recover in the remaining days. no rest days, keep your aerobic system alive by those short runs.
One week before run 3x500m with 10 minute recoveries at goal pace. This should tell you where your at. The days leading up to the race just do strides and some drills.
