yeah .. dathan may not be the skeleton man anymore. his genetics are for him to gain alot of fat around his current age. all of his family members were skinny at his age. Trust me, I'm his cousin. Soon, he'll be thick like the rest of us, mainly in his butt though.

Dathan supposedly is already running again. So look out.

Word on the street is dathan is running very fast and will run at Nats and finish in the top 10. If he does, Colo. will finish 1st

He's a fool if he's started back already. Injuries at his age need to be coddled- he's got such a great future. Small things develop into BIG things of not treated right and treated well. Let's hope he doesn't waste his talent.

think about it, of course Ritz is gonna run this year, he will still have another two years of eligibility to try to win the indy title, but this is most likely his last shot at another team championship. I think the better question is why wouldn't he run? I would agree in regards to the injury though, but I think you'll see him running come November. I'd count on it.

Yeah, if it has had time to heal. Several weeks is pushing it.

There is no way that he is going to run at nationals. Why would he risk his career over just one race? College means nothing to him, it's just an intermediate step to the pros. Anyways, one month is not enough time to get back into good shape. Just face it, Colorado is a 3 man show this year.

So, in an interview I did with Vin Lananna in September, he seemed to believe CU might run Dathan. But, he seemed most concerned with Arkansas. I think I agree. Ark has two guys who are phenominal, two guys who are top-20 and two more who could be All-American. Stanford has probably five who could be top-20, seven who could be All-American. CU has four good ones and then a very uncertain fifth. I personally don't believe Dathan will be top-10, although I know he has the guts to do it. I don't believe Slattery will be top-10. E. Torres may be top-10. So, this gives CU a slightly less impressive profile than Ark. I think Ark will pull out some good racing in Nov., but I also believe that Stanford is going to have its best year ever. Should be interesting in Nov.

everyone loves to overlook arkansas because they arent stanford or colorado-- people usually align themselves with one or the other. but arkansas continually wins out of the not-favorite position.

i see no reason why ritz would not run. if he redshirts, it makes his season after the olympics much more complicated, and he wont have a shot at a team title for a while. even a team runnerup, possibly a team third. if he runs i think he will be top 10. but i think with everyone who is supposed to be top 10- 3 from colorado (ex. ritz) 3 from stanford 2 from arkansas plus boaz, kimani, kip, whomever is 1 for wisco, etc- ed and steve might run out of spots and finish top 20. still great because of the loaded field. but arkansas will be better. they always are. they race 10ks, they train through everything, and their top 7 will be the 2-8 toughest runners in the field following ritz. they always do it.

Actually, when you were top 25 in the world in cross country a year ago, and you're maturing and improving rapidly, one month of training is enough to be at least top ten, and likely better, at NCAAs. Especially if Ritz has been doing aerobic cross training in the interim.
