Already mentioned Don Clary who went on to run in the Olympics, not to mention Dunbar's dad who was a 4 min miler in college.

I attended school briefly with Herron in the mid-80s. Nice guy and he had some wheels. I once watched him run a 49 second quarter just for the fun of it, and it was effortless for him. One of the smoothest runners I've ever witnessed. Nonetheless, I believe he struggled with compartment syndrome or something similar. Did run a 1:47. John Quade was another teammate that I'm not sure what happened to him. Ran a decent 1500 but never really seemed to fulfill the potential he had coming out of high school. Great talent. Wonder what he's up to?
