Kid's coach is crazy.
yes.
Also it was a quadruple, he splie 53.xx in the 4x400.
Hoping that the 800 and 2 mile were "easy" for him and not all out because he has bigger fish to fry later in the season.
if you can do that triple then run 53, must mean nothing was left in the tank by the 4x4. running those times in a triple though means he can go about 1:53, 3:58, 8:40
sounds like he has similar speed to Ritz in high school.
He better move to the marathon in a year or 2.
I'd rather have a 4:01/8:34 double.
Now that German has posted the times that he did last year you're going to say that Anything less than his marks isn't worth mentioning? In that case German sucks as well because there are all kinds of East Africans who are faster. Quit hating and respect good performances when they happen!

These meets are over a two day period.
AK state meet in two and a half weeks--predict 8:54 (officially breaking Don Clary's 9:04 2 mile [=9:01 3200]) standard and 4:08.
He'll go faster next month at the big invites against top competition: 8:47 and 4:05
Fernandez did a similar quadruple last year (seems longer ago though).
4:10ish 1600, 8:54 3200, 1:58ish 800m and 54xx 400m...and within a year has done a LOT since then.
With 4:10 (all alone?) and the footlocker highschool championship, Dunbar is a total stud and could go under 8:50 this year, maybe 8:45.

I doubt that was German posting.
BTW, last march he put up a 4:15, 1:58, 8:53, 53 quadruple.
That doesn't take anything away from Trevor Dunbar (just like Derrick beating German doesn't take anything away from the fact that both smashed the AJR). Just pointing it out.
As a matter of fact, HS and college running are so much better now than they were 10-20 years ago that there really is no comparison. All the guys and girls that are putting up good times now would have been looked on as gods in the mid 90's.
We've come a long way, but we still have a way to go.
There is an asterix next to these marks.
Seems he was chased by a Polar Bear during some of these races and everyone knows you run pretty fast when a Polar Bear is after you. Its a hazard of living in freaking Alaska.

seriously? so who owns the american junior record at 5000m?
Why would you mention a polar bear when he is from an island renowned for its KODIAK BEARS, the largest bears on the planet
yeah yeah yeah
Kodiak, Polar, who cares, bear food is bear food. I'd run pretty fast with either chasing me.
He is the best runner coming out of Alaska in a good while. Who was the great runner they had in the 80's, I can't remember his name.

Went to AZ and never heard from again (relatively)
Uh, no it doesn't. That's crazy talk. I did quadruples all the time in high school and my times weren't much different if it was the last event than if it was the first event. A little, but not too much. Doesn't mean you can take off freaking 28 seconds in the 3200!
I hate hearing stories like that. It's depressing as hell...

FAIL
Herron continues to coach in Alaska. Sort of a controversial type at times but he's coached some good runners and will have continued success.Already mentioned Don Clary who went on to run in the Olympics, not to mention Dunbar's dad who was a 4 min miler in college.
