It's bullshit that names are released before a B sample is tested, if that's what happened here.

IMO Dita was trailing a plume of drug fumes for 42K in Beijing. I'm a bit bummed she didn't get nailed w/CERA

oh didn't you know? Everyone who hasn't tested positive yet is clean. Especially if they aren't from America and they're very fast.
That sums up the PC naivety of most Americans when it comes to their view of certain folks who can never be criticized.

goes to show, it's not as dirty as some people think. I know that sounds counter-intuitive but think of it like this. Almost everyone that I (and other professional runners who are candid) think is dirty, has been caught, like 80%.
With no exceptions that I can think of, no one that I thought was "clean" has been caught.
It's more than just tests, a whole host of factors strongly indicate that someone is dirty.
Yeah, of course, like whether you think they are dirty or not. It is all falling into place now.

Your reasoning being what exactly?
very surprising than only 6 athletes get caught...
cycling: 2 out of 200 at the start... makes 1%
athletic: only 2 out of several thousands...mmm
Ramzi: probably juiced in the past 5 years, but caught only now..
in short, seems that avoiding getting caught is still very possible even with the new tests.
if we take Rebellin for example, he might have been tested n-times from Beijing until now (he just won the L-B-L) but get caught only once...
in short: DOPING seems to pay off
PROS: a sure improvement of your performance and therefore sure $$$
CONS: very limited risk in % terms
Baala has been tested time and again, and in France, these days, the testing is very rigorous. He has always come out clean.
Poor show for insinuating Baala might be dirty.

Baala, Willis, Symmonds, Kara, Deena, Shalane, Manzano. Kim Smith, Rowbury, Donohue, the Russians, the Ukranians, the Bulgarians, the Romanians, the Chinese, etc. geeze.... they could all be on undetectable synthetically engineered steroids. The only person we know for sure that's on something is Lance Armstrong who has bouts of public roid rage followed by Prozac induced happy spells.

Haha. One Bahranian gets caught and all of a sudden white people can compete with the Africans. Hilarious!
it's a step in the right direction, and your interpretation is not what i said, at all.
my thoughts are that there are so many dirty distance atheltes outside of america, britian, etc that it is ridiculous. the americans produce very good runners who slowly progress, even, no, especially webb. he ran 147 and 3:53 in hs. he ran, what 4 flat indoors as a junior and then was injured for outdoors that year.
webb is not doping. he is a fanatic, in the best way, about his life (running) and wants to be the best for everybody, all the time. that kind of pressure is unfathomable for most of us, at least on a national level. i said it earlier and i will say it again, i think this year will be his best. he's not freaking out, he's not peaking early. he's running good races and winning. he almost got there for indoors. my guess would be that webb is training through most of these early races. wouldn't be suprised if his meets are backed up with a decent workout the same day, almost a double. nothing ridiculous like before but a good workout.
webb will win this year because he is getting it or has begun to get it right where it matters most - upstairs. and that is what everyone knows has been the scary part about what he can do. when he gets his mental emotions in check look the f--k out. 3:45 he will hit, for the mile along with a 3:27-28. he is just that good, naturally.
If I were Kiprop I would wash that medal for hours. Just Ramzi holding it would be enough to transfer massive amounts of PEDs onto it, let alone when he licked it. It might need to be cast into the fires of Mt. Doom in order to clean that puppy.
Dita's performance gave no indication that she was doped. She ran a brillant race and took the gold against "better" runners in the race. As Lydiard said " It's not the best athlete that wins, it's the best athlete on that day."[quote]turnabout wrote:
Its worth noting that if you just take Ramzi out of the meet entirely, Lagat would have made it into the Final. He was the first non-qualifier from the Semis, missed by .03.
Not that it matters with how he was running though.

Lagat's as big a doper as Ramzi. He was let off for politically correct reasons. The hell with Ramzi, Lagat and other cheats. Maybe the theory that Lagat tanked it on purpose to avoid testing in Beijing is true. Maybe.
skiddaddilydoo is correct in his analysis.
The true meaning is that Ramzi is suspected. The B sample is pending. Willis and they others may also be dirty and there are no tests conclusive tests at this time to say they are clean.
Hang on a minute! Ramzi has tested positive in his A sample. We still have the B sample to confirm things. While I have always suspected Ramzi, and think the B test will be positive, didn't Lagat get a positive A test back in 2003 before the WC? Was everyone vilifying him at the time?
Are these tests full proof? How come Lagat's B test sample was negative. Something wrong there surely. Oh, he must have been innocent because he went on to run for the US!
There is too much politics, corruption and organised cheating in the sport. Some get away with it with official support and cover-ups, while others are slaughtered as sacrificial lambs.

You've never been present when USADA or WADA comes knocking on the door for a sample, have you?
No I haven't. But, do you think Bahrain's national body would have released Ramzi's name had they tested him positive? How about Carl Lewis in '88? His positive tests weren't let out to the public until after he retired.
Do you really think the Chinese women WR holders at 1500 & 3000m, who would have had to submit samples for testing to the Chinese federation, were clean? Intervention by officials and political deals behind closed doors are and have been common place.
