It's not like Ramzi did a lot of races on the circuit in order to get fast times.
He just turned up at the championships and cleaned up. So to speak.
I would imagine if he set his doping plan for a Golden League or something he could have run so much faster, like a lot of other guys we know.
Glad to hear Ramzi is a cheater, just like I suspected all along. This guy is a poor sportsman. He is a dirty racer, and at the bell in Beijing he shoved his teammate very hard.

It is also very obvious when you watch the video. No suprise here that he is a doper. It is great news for the integrity of the sport.
This means that KIPROP may be the new man who reins for a long time.
Thanks for providing these two pics to those above. In the first, he looks like he's praying "i hope I don't get caught."
and in the second, he is clearly shoving Belal Ali. thanks for reminding me of that. I remember yelling at the screen when it happened. I also remember thinking what a douche he was when he walked off the track in Osaka in disgust at the silver.
But El G has had a training partner busted before (Adil Kaouch) so it's not like there hasn't been suspicion surounding El G before.

i'm not saying El-Guerrouj was clean but when Ramzi was training with El-Guerroujs group he was just a 3:36 runner.

Sorry, but that tweek is just lame. Wow, he would have made the finals and finished last! Woohoo!!!
I guess this is a case of schadenfreude.
Don't some have performance incentives in their contracts? Not sure about him, but don't some people get bonuses from their shoe companies for making finals at WC's, Olympics, and running certain times?!?!?!

True but I doubt anyone improved from 3.39 - 3.30 in one year.
Progression - Outdoor
Season Performance Wind Place Date
800 Metres 2007 1:45.64 Osaka 30/08/2007
2006 1:44.05 Madrid 17/07/2006

2002 1:47.12 Busan 09/10/2002
1500 Metres 2008 3:32.86 Zürich 29/08/2008
2007 3:35.00 Osaka 29/08/2007
2006 3:29.14 Roma 14/07/2006
2005 3:30.00 Roma 08/07/2005
2004 3:30.25 Roma 02/07/2004
2003 3:39.30 Rabat 31/05/2003
2002 3:44.85 Stockholm 16/07/2002
Add to that the fact that he very rarely competed on the grand-prix circuit and it seems very obvious. Glad he got caught.
What the hell is Webb doing with his right leg?
Ramzi, that little piece of shit. Everyone knew that he is a dirty little bastard, only the evidence was missing.
I´m glad that I don´t have to see his bad behaviour and ugly face on the track anymore.
Hear hear... arrogant prick
"Silver is Baala getting a Bronze...he has been in the sport a long time at a high level (1:43/3:28 prs, 2X euro champ, 4th in Sydney in 2000) and that would be his first Olympic medal I believe and his first international medal since his silver in 2003."
-you're crazy if you think baala is clean. completely loco.

Who are the other two track and field endurance athletes that got busted.... non-medalists.
Here you go.
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hyS1iqYc8G6gpH2eMVs_iph3ajJAD97S75AO0Athanasia Tsoumelka, a Greek racewalker who had admitted it a few months ago when she found out they were doing this retest, and Croatian 800 runner Vanja Perisic, who was knocked out in the heats. Must suck to go through the trouble of cheating and then not even make the semis....
Well apparently this news is a result of only the A sample. He still has the appeal and the B sample to be tested. He will not be banned until after that I believe. I posted this on the other thread too: It would really suck to have your A sample show positive, your rep ruined by the news, then have your B sample totally clean. can you ever really recover from that? I don't like Ramzi because of his tactics (see the pushing pic above) and general shitty attitude (sulking off the track in Osaka after getting 'only' silver), but let's all see what happens with the B sample.

Thank god for CERA. It was new, so drug cheats flocked to it. What they didn't realize is that CERA was designed to stay in the body *longer*, so cancer patients wouldn't have to take EPO so often. You couldn't ask for a better trap for drug cheats.
CERA cheats were caught in last year's TDF, and that's when it came out that CERA was actually a trap of sorts. So Ramzi knew in Beijing that he might get caught. What an asshole. He could have faked an injury or something but instead he goes for the false glory.
How can someone get down on their knees and thank their God/Allah/whatever for allowing them to cheat their way to a Gold medal? Where is the pride in that?

This makes Asbel Kiprop the Gold medalist.. I always knew Ramzi was a dirt. How he won double in the championships made me very suspicious.. He never wins Grand-prix but finals in world champs and Olympics he is untouchable. There is a kenyan athlete who once was said to have spotted him injecting himself with DRUGS at abathroom before a race.
From the Reuters article:
He left his first big mark on the international scene in 2004 when he shaved nine seconds off his personal best and snapped the four-year winning streak of world record holder Hicham El Guerrouj.
9 seconds off an elite PR should've made everyone suspicious.......and he did get busted after that. Came back and still ran awesome times.
The testing protocols are not any more accurate than the bogus ones they had a few years ago.
There are many false positives.
This doesn't mean that someone was "caught", it means the testing procedures are still all screwed up.
Did Baala have blood samples taken after the final? Just wondering how they're going to handle this if he ends up 3rd.
