WHAT PLACEAND TIME FOR HARROUFI?
2:05's just don't have that spark anymore. And what happened to tadese?
When a B grade marathon like Paris with a fraction of the budget had about 6 or 7 guys under 2-07 a few weeks ago
:)
Ouch!!
one second is huge if you are that person - one thing saying 2:09 and another saying 2:10 - being sub 2:10 huge
Can you imagine if an announcer fouled up names like this for a basketball game or a football game? "here comes Lefron Hames up the court.." And don't try and blame it on the fact that the names are foreign. Ritzenburg? Yeah, he's just retarded. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible.
times ranked:
all time:
1 1 2 » WANJIRU, SAMUEL (KEN) M18 2:05:10 9th
2 2 4 » KEBEDE, TSEGAYE (ETH) M18 2:05:20 10th
3 3 8 » GHARIB, JAOUAD (MAR) M18 2:05:27 12th
It will be adjusted to 2:09:59. I saw him cross the First Mat a second early then the second Mat at 2:09:59

LOL! I heard that too and was shaking my head wondering who actually selected these announcers. This guy should make a cassette of himself talking and sell it as a sleeping aid.

Tadesse paid the price of staying at that pace. Being his first marathon he should have been wise like Patrick Makau did in Roterdam. It is good to be cautious. I think he dropped out. You are bound to overdo underdo drinks. Either way your inexperience would cost you in the end.
Looks like Tadese dropped out somewhere after 35k.

I think the female (Jo Pavey) would be the one to put you to sleep with her voice.

Well done sir!
I dunno, London site has him at 2:10:00
they USUALLY round the time UP a second.
i hope they give him 2:09:59, 1 second is no big difference, but psychologically thinking of himself as a 2:09 marathoner rather than a 2:10 marathoner may help him next time.

Marathon is no joke men. You saw how Haile Gebr dropped drastically from the pace back in 2002, finishing almost a minute behind Kannouchi and Paul Tergat. I like the way Patrick Makau did in Roterdam. He stayed at the back of the lead pack and when he needed to drop down a little, he did just that. In the end he managed to finish an incredible fourth with an incredible 2:06:14. A marathon is for men. But there is next year for Tadesse. I would advise him to try a less competitive marathon like Tokyo or Fukuoka for example. Then he will gain some confidence and in 2011, he will do very well in London.
