anyone who has read the lore of running has seen noakes argument that running 2 marathons a year or more is not helpful for a long balanced career. And of course some will point out some africans as exceptions but they are the exceptions not he rule. I definitely think hall should have raced xc and track this spring and summer then gone for a fast marathon in berlin or even waited till next london. But I feel like he probably wanted redemption after the olympics. I hope he proves me wrong and runs well in boston, but regardless of his performance after that he needs to have a fall spring coming up where he doesn't run a marathon and starts doing some shorter stuff again.
