"Peeps, you obviously have an infatuation here, but come back when (IF) Fernandez has a proven track record like Rupps. German is off to a big start, but is missing some pretty big items. Can you think what those might be?"
Here, let me edit this to give you some credibility:
altitude tent?.....
Underwater treadmill?.....
Professional coaching in/since HS?.....
oh man, you set it up so nicely Holman Syndrome!
OK, the Nike financial support conspiracy thing is just stupid so I took it out so I can adress you as someone with half a brain.
So.....Altitude tent.
These things are not proven for shit, but plenty of pro's have them and are getting there asses kicked by rupp. Also, more pros AND college athletes live and train at alititude, and are getting there asses kicked by Rupp.
Underwater Treadmill - I've heard that several univerisities have access to these too.
Professional Coach since high school - OK the only point that can be made is that he has had a good coach. There are professional coaches who are not that good, many college coaches are better. Rupp does happen to have a very good coach. Valid point, but wait what is your point? Rupp should seek out a shitty coach?
Bottom line out of all the things you're eluding to, you've missed the point. Of all of these things only one of them have much affect on how Rupp PERFORMS when it counts. The coach can have a major impact on this. The rest is up to Rupp, or any runner. Rupp made his olympic team, Rupp made the world team, Rupp won the NCAA championship over VERY strong competition.
All of this other stuff can help him be fast, but none of it can help him race.
You forgot to bring up the undisputed, clear, #1 advantage of all, natural born ability. You're not going to argue that Rupp has more of that than German are you?
