it was awesome to run in this race. will never forget it.

Webb needs to find a custom sports nutritionist & personal chef...he doesn;t look fat, but he looks soft and flat...
hate to say it..but his toupee sucks
This was obviously just a shake out. I'm waiting for next week.
i don't know about soft and fat, but jeez, layoff the weights or something, he looks too big to be a world class miler

Clearly. People want to bash on him because he ran a rust buster double the week before BIG? People might forget he opened 2007 with a 359.3 in a somewhat serious attempt. No one to push him, but it wasn't a walk in the park like this race. He then went 356, 355, then geared up for outdoors where he ran his AR in the mile. So i wouldn't be all end of the world just because he ran a 152/404 on a flat track as a workout to open his season.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Basically it is a mile a bit quicker then 2 mile pace, and then an 800 a bit quicker then mile pace.
What I make of this is you need to learn the word "than."
I see Webb was listed as "unattached". Is he still running for Nike?
webb is better then this wrote:
He should have raced and won the 400, 500 and 1000 as well. What a shitty meet.
I agree to some extent. They picked a bad weekend for this meet with Penn State and a few other high quality meets in the area. Sub Par times outside of top 5 and maybe top 8 of most races. However, you also have to factor in that there were D3 schools there. Times are pretty much based off prespective of the person viewing the results. What is slow in D1 is actually pretty quick in D3 and maybe even D2 and whats fast in D3 or D2 seems average or sub par in D1.
Remember not everyone can run 8:20 for a 3k, 4:08 for the mile, 14:30 for the 5k, 2:25 for a 1000m and so on and so forth. These times are highly elite.
And yes Alan most likely would have won the 400, 500 and 1000 but he's a world class athlete. This is an average college meet. You might want to think before you speak the next you open your mouth.
I agree. It's stupid comments like this that give letsrun.com a bad wrap.
Richard Smith doesn't run anymore.
Looking at the video I would say that the image of Webb as being particularly muscle bound and stocky is due in some part to distortion in the video. They took a video that was probably shot in more of a 4x3 aspect ratio and stretched closer to a 16x9. This gives the effect of making everyone seem shorter and fatter. If you look closely, all of the runners look wide.

Go Alan! I'd love to see you have another good season. Take care and good luck.
AW's focus is on Berlin later in the year....assuming he can make the WC team!
This was a local meet with lots of smaller programs. Some athletic Directors and coaches do try to stick to a budget.
Watching Webb I actually thought he looked a lot leaner. He had great turnover in the opening and closing laps of the 8. His mile was even and he looked relaxed. He looked light on feet. I thought last year he looked a few pounds heavier. He also looked excited. He was looking through results like any other athlete, mixing with the fans and athletes. Looked like he was having fun. The best part of yesterday is when it was over he only had to drive ten minutes to get home. Cant beat that.
it was january. who cares what he ran.
Alan Webb is still the most talented middle distance runner out there, when he is on, he can put on an amazing show. Right now Webb needs to forget olympics past and also olympics futures and just run in the present. He can make hay in the next couple of years. Alan there is no pressure on you just run and kick butt, have fun.
You're an ass. And you're wrong. Which makes you a double-ass. The use of "then" there was correct.

Ummm 4x3 and 16x9 are the exact same as far as aspect ratio goes. 16 = 4^2, 9=3^2
wait.... seriously? maybe there are two people who need to learn the word "than".
