What of if he does both:run a hard 3k and win a national title. Would that make you feel better?

why did kosgei just sit on his time though? That doesn't make any sense. Going into the final weekend 13th and praying that no one else passes you on the list. It seems weird to me that the national champ would risk not getting in. Something had to have been wrong. He must be sick or something.....
It wasn't a life or death matters and i would say "risk not making in" is too strong. Watch how you talk!
800: O'Brien cruises to victory
O'Brien - Sub 1:50
Bofa
Kehoe
Mile: Might be the best race other then the DMR
Kosgei
McConnell
MacPherson
5k: Kaul wins the last mile
Kaul
Spain
Christiansen
DMR: Very close all the way down
LaCrosse
St. Thomas
Osh Kosh
Rage, comparing the Hamilton runners on that DMR team to the US alternates on the 4x4 is really amazing. I'm pretty sure none of those kids even made ECACs. The US alternates would prob make every other countries team in the 400 and 4x4. You picked a terrible example. But, I'll admit douchebag may have been a bit strong.
Kosgei isn't a lock in the mile. If some of those other guys can get out in front of him; they have a shot. MacPherson has to be a favorite for the upset but Mike Hardbarger has pushed him to the brink before, and shouldn't be counted out.
The DMR is one of those races that makes people watch a live feed. Is there going to be one again?
It will be interesting to see how the 800 and 5k play out with two clear leaders. Good luck to everyone who's going.
Ok it wasn't the best example I suppose I could have used the Netherlands Olympic 4x1 team...but people cant relate to that...anyway its the same thing in regards to getting to the next level of competition...I wasn't comparing overall talent...I was comparing the situations they were in.
I agree Kosegei isn't a lock in the mile his fitness isn't where its been in the past and there is some talent out there. If it goes out slow and comes down to a kick Brian Leiter could make some noise.
800 and 5k are pretty much a lock baring injury/mental breakdown. Dallas Vincent could surprise in the 5k.
Is it just me or is the 400 pretty weak this year?
Predictions-
First and Foremost- CraigMac will crash and burn on his 40th race of the season heheheh
800-O'Brien (1:51)
Bofa- Hit' em up westside!
Iwanicki - the stickiest of icki
1609- Leiter- in an upset (4:09) pulling off the Zdroik-stache induced kick
Kosgei... only because he doesn't care
Harvey- the smartest man in the field
McGuire- If he doesn't have to run the DMR as well
MacDiesel... Last in 4:58
5k
Kaul-Last K under 2:40 (1423)
Spain- the round mound of rebound
Vincent- Why no mile???- booooo
Flynn
Jedediah Christianson- the 18th century pegleg pilgrim- Brady or Lancaster- fistacuffs for 5th and 6th
DMR- (9:56.09)
Oshkosh- Kaul anchors in 4:06.. passing a fading St. Thomas runner who inexcusably goes out in 1:57... such is the nature of the national DMR
Lacrosse- 800 runner???
St. Thomas- (See above) Boumeester won't fall over Stangel this time though. Props to this school for being a MD juggernaut at the moment actually
NYU... LAST-They will blame it somehow on Willy Kaul

Don't count out the field's other jedidiah in either of those events
HummmM - nice try discrediting MacPherson. You're probably Kosgei himself coming on here and talking trash because you're starting to get nervous.

No, Craig already crashed and burned this season and has since been resurrected. He's basically a phoenix, and the cycle isn't due to repeat itself for at least a few more races.
Also, he looks kind of like harry potter.
Predictions:
craig potter will kill cedric diggory fighting for the baby triwizard championship this weekend

that might work if he didn't predict kosgei as getting second because 'he doesn't care'
try again
i liked the predictions btw, i got a chuckle out of a few of them

um, yes.
To say that those times run by Cortland compare to how well they ran in cross-country is just false. I realize many of them are hurt or worn down, but that itself is a problem, not an excuse. I'm not trying to knock Cortland by any means, they have a great program, but you can't call their indoor season a successful one, especially considering almost all of those times that were posted were run earlier in the season.
Leiter (Frostburg State) is my sleeper pick. He ran an auto in January. He was a freshman, my senior year at Frostburg. Will be ready for a top three performance.
LaX will not win the DMR
We will win. My 5k equates to a 404.5 mile and this is a 1600 leg and I have more left in the tank.
Get ready its going to be awesome!
Sounds like a lot of people are going with Leiter as their sleeper pick...does that make him not a sleeper anymore?
Willy not only will win the 5k and DMR this year, but next year he's going to win all three distance races (mile included).
800 - Pat Roach - Messiah College
IDK about all of this pessimism about Kosgei. His 4:04.6 DMR carry was certainly impressive. Going out in 57 I think negates the running start, and I don't know if anyone in the field could run a 4:06 mile on a flat track. He's still going to be tough as hell to beat if he's not looking ahead to outdoor.

From what I understand, Hardbarger and Kosgei went 2:10-2:01 in their race. Sounds like they're both pretty strong contenders to me.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
