I was a nobody D3 guy back in the 80's. The coach needed points, so in the conference I did the 1500, 800 and 5000.
It was a 2 day meet with prelims in the 800 and 1500 on day 1 and finals the next day.
In the finals I did 3:57, 1:57, low 15s. I the 5 I just sat and kicked trying to score points.
At the time I was bitter because I felt used by the coach, but looking back its a good memory.
Luis German, a Junior at the time ran in a two day span an 800 trial, 1500 trial, 4x800(4th) leg (day one) then 800 final(5th) 1500 final (2nd)and then capped it off with a 5k at the end (6th). This was at our conference meet so needless to say they were huge points
As I recall there was a guy from Columbia, maybe his name was Jim Gibson, who, in 99 or 2000, did the 1500, steeple, 5000 at Heps. I don't know if he won any of them but I think he was 2-5 in all of them.
I think Justin Taylor down at Florida won the 800/mile/2mile hs state championship over the course of 2-3 hours a few years back.
once at a conference meet i did 4x800, 1500 and 5k and i was very successful in all of them. also once at indoor conference i did DMR(mile leg), open mile, thousand and 5k. i was very unsuccessful at that because i was sick.
Bob Cheseret pulled off the 1500/5k/10k triple at pac-10s.... twice.
Correction to the above post, he pulled off that double once and then the 5k/10k double another time.
Enough 3000sc/5000/10000 triples and all that other bullshit!
I'm looking for 800/1500/5000 triples, 90% of the posts here are something admirable but something very different. I'm looking for someone who did to the middle distance races what Zatopek did to the distance races-took on all comers over all distances and won all of them.

Here you go man, were you not reading earlier? What kind of times did McMullen run in each race?
Other than the 800 prelim, I don't remember the times being all that fast. His toughest competition was from his teammates: in the 5k from Dominic Middleton, a 13:49 guy, and in the 1500 and 800 from Greg Rhymer (1:46) and Jason Boothroyd (1:49/3:44). EMU swept the 800 and 1500.
Martin Keino of Arizona won the 1500, 3000 steeple and 5000 at the Pac 10s in 1993.
Why... do you think boy wonder is going for a similar triple at Big 12s?
Bridget Franek (currently at Penn State) won a HS triple at 1600/800/3200. The 800 and 3200 were 15 minutes apart, and she broke D-2 state records in both.
Francie Larrieu won the 880/Mile/2-mile at the 1974 AIAW (women's collegiate) championships. There was no 3-mile or 5k at that meet.
Perhaps I'm suffering from some dementia but I'm certain I witnessed her doing it in A^2 in - I think 86...? at Big 10. I googled it, but didn't have the patience to find the results.
Nate Peck from GVSU ran 1:53, 3:50 and 14:50s at GLIACs last spring... Though he got one 1st and two 2nds. I believe he only ran the 800m maybe twice his entire collegiate career.
I believe that Vincent Rono from S.Alabama won the 10k, 1500, and 800 at SBC a few years ago, and he placed second in the 5k. Not a bad weekend. 28:57, 14:32, 3:50, 1:49.

Hey Bub, Tommy Fulton did that quadruple at NATIONALS...back when NAIA nationals meant something.
YES I've witnessed such a display twice:
TREVOR GRAHAM, Southland Conference: ran the 800m, 1500m, Steeple, 5000m, and 10000m in a two day period and winning three of the five events and placing no lower than 3rd in the other two.
