Whoops, missed Irifune.
Whoops, missed Irifune.
you are an absolute idiot, clevergirl.... Hundreds/thousands are following JB's results, and your mock commentary is a disgrace to those who follow the sport.
May evil things happen to you and your children in the future....
good updates. Kebede is a 2:06 machine.
yeah thanks wrote:

yea, it's his second
Turku, you are shallow man with very little in your pathetic excuse for a life. You should try to develop something that at least resembles a sense of humour before you die of seriousness. Your evil wishing reveals a certain emptiness and discontent with your own life.
Any results for Martin Dent (AUS)????
No idea, coverage cut out after Aburaya finished. The channel is on some other show now. I hope it is a game show where people have to swallow molten steel or get severe electric shock.

....this year....
Clevergirl, you are a f'ing idiot. This was such an important run for Jon --- new Nationality, comeback from injuries, etc., etc., etc. A sense of humour I have, but there is nothing at all remotely funny about filing false race reports. No humour, whatsoever....Go for a walk in your nearest cemetery and defile gravestones, and laugh your stupid little ass off...idiot...
re: JB
I think I saw him cross the line in ~2:12:30 (#5 right?)
So Drayton's NR is intact...still...after 33 years....
top 10?
Turku, stay tuned for a post-race interview with Brown.

and he will try to run that or better in london on april 26th 2009 in a field that includes lel, wanjiru, tadesse and more, what a dream race that SHOULD be, lets hope everyone is healthy and the weather is good for fast marathons.
I think Jon Brown was about 2:12.26, and given where he has been with injury problems, that is a solid run. In big races, Jon stays together very well (4th in the Olympics in 2000 and 2004), so we will see how it goes from here. One step at a time.. Go Jon!
also kebede is 21 years old and he will be 22 on january 17, 2009kebede, wanjiru and lots of good marathoners, i kind of agree with wejo american runners should not wait until they are past their prime at 5-10k before they attempt a marathon.
Yes, Brown was bib #5.
That's all well and good, but how many American runners (as most people around here use that term: anglos) would be able to throw down a 14:17 en route to a 2:06 the way Kebede did today? I don't see Hall or Ritz doing that and I don't see Rupp ever doing that, either.

But they can be competetive instead of being whooped like de la hoya did tonight against a non whiteboy.
TOP 10???
does anyone know where results can be found???
I am pretty darn sure Jon only wanted to run that time. He had done this before. Once he said that he was going to run as slow as he can and still qualify and did that within a couple seconds. Another time he said he is going to run a 2:20 and did exactly that. In this case the A+ Standard for Canada is 2:12:38 and he ran 2:12:26.
I think if he put it all out on the line, he would have run 2:07/8/9, but that wont get him a win and will still only qualify him for what 2:12:26 qualifies him for and that is the IAAF World Track and Field Championship marathon in Berlin.
He probably ran that on purpose.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
