I'm getting pretty frustrated with my stupid feet. Always sore. Always bothering me...
I used to work in a running store so I like to think I have a decent knowledge of running shoes. But I've taken a few years off running and now that I'm trying to get back to logging miles, I'm have problems finding the right shoe.
Side note - I used to run long sprints in college so I could pretty much get away with a neutral shoe with forefoot cushioning (ran mostly on my forefeet).
Now, I'm trying to get in shape to race some 5 k's and my arches are killing me. I have tried buying Kayanos, Asics 21xx's, New Balance 76x's, New Balance 85x's, New Balance 122x's and they all seem to have the same problem - the arch support feels too far forward. After a run, the middle of my foot is sore from what feels like excessive pressure in the middle of my foot. But running in neutral shoes gives me plantar faciitis.
Does anyone else feel like their arch is towards their heel? If so, what shoes do you find offer support towards the heel (vs. the middle of your foot)?
Or does this sound like my foot would do best in custom orthotics?
Thanks for any advice.
