Besides.. mr xeno has it figured out...Webb is and for sure will become the greatest american distance runner ever. if he wanted to he would hold every american record 1500m thru 10k and possibly marathon. time will tell.

Funny that you talk about Bauhs as if you know him, his history or his training. You are stating mindless opionion as obvious fact. To say that he is just starting to get serious with training shows that you have no knowledge of what you speak. To even bring drugs into the conversation proves this even more. There are many factors here when looking at how Bauhs or Rupp (or any runner) got to where they are: training, physical maturity, racing opportunity, coaching, mental toughnes, injury, etc. Why come on here and start bashing one or the other bacause their progression doesn't fit into your preconceived notion of what it should be?

So there you have it. Rupp is WAY more dedicated, and Bauh's is extremely talented and is just finally tapping into it. There's no other option. And he shouldn't get more credit just because he finally decided to make use of his talent whereas others have worked for years to get the most out of their bodies.
scott bauhs WILL NOT be a better distance runner than galen rupp.
alan webb WILL NOT be a better distance runner than galen rupp for 10k and longer.
alan webb IS a better runner than bauhs, all around.
i doubt alan webb ever runs 7:30 for 3k, let alone sub 13 for 5k or sub 27:20 for 10k. i think he could get the 1500m AR, but i think that, the mile, and maybe something obscure like 2000m will be all that webb will hold as for as AR. i think rupp or hall will be the eventual holder of the 10k AR. 5k is still up in the air.
if gary towne can take a 15:36 5k runner out of high school and turn him into a 13:31 5k runner, i think that's pretty damn noteworthy. someone doesn't get that good just because he's a talented athlete. if he was that talented and not injured in high school, he probably would've been running faster in high school. how did scott simmons' xc team do this season by the way?
There is a NAIA coach by the name of STEVE SCOTT. yeah greatest American Miler ever.!
Alan Webb has already run 13:10 for 5K, and he hasn't even devoted a season to that event. By the time he's 30 (after winning 1500 gold in London in 2012) he'll primarily be a 5K guy. He'll be the first whiteboy under 12:50; I predict 12:47. Then when he's 32 he'll focus on the 10K, becoming the first American to break 27:00. Finally, for the 2016 games, he'll be a marathoner. He'll break the American record by running 2:04, and will win marathon gold in 2016. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back to the marathon in the 2020 games and wins another gold. He'll be 37 then, still young enough to run sub 2:06.
When all is said and done, Alan Webb will have three gold medals at the end of his career.
This is pretty much spot on. All things being equal at this point, Buahs should have a far greater potential than rupp.
I'll tell you in three years who will be the best.

That was actually one of the most accurate posts i've ever seen Mrr82 write.
And you are an idiot. No where did Mrr82 bash Bauhs. The fact that Rupp trained his ass off for the past 8 years and Bauhs hasn't isn't a diss on Bauh's, it's just the facts. I do know Bauhs, and he didn't start training seriously until only a few years ago. THose are the facts. He trained before then, but nothing like he has in the past few years. Bauhs has demonstrated he is extremely talented. Not many people can make the gains he made in such short time, which was what Mrr82 was saying. That shows he wasn't doing squat to tap his talent for a long time. Which isn't a diss on Bauhs, it's just the facts which you can't debate.
As for his drugs comment. I don't think it was aimed at Bauhs, but he is right. Those are the only two options for people who make such huge gains 1) they are insanely talented and just tapping into it 2) they used drugs. He didn't indicate that he thought Bauhs took drugs. He was just laying out the only two options which fit his above premise.
Steve Scott became famous thru running... simmons has made his name thru coaching.. its completely different. and for webb he ran the 10k one time 27:34.72... best pro debute by any american EVER!!! subsequently, he also beat Ritz in this race.. Ritz ran his pr 27:35.65... webb ran once how many times has Rupp ran the 10k.?. anyone know i would honestly like to know?
hey irun lets look at the numbers.. if we use averages... (if both runners were to continue with the same average progression they each have had over the past four years) their projected performances for 5k would be...
rupp 7sec/4yrs=1.75sec per season
next season projection=13:28.25
bauhs 2min/4yrs=30sec per season
next season projection=13:01

You obviously are not familiar with the meaning of the word "subsequently." Or the word "debut." Although your unfamiliarity with each word is not necessarily manifesting the same type of ignorance, as your ignorance concerning "debut" is less egregious. I understand this will fly over your head, so just don't strain your neck as it sails over you.
wow scott your getting so much publicity all of a sudden.. pretty tight. i want to see more posts by miley cyrus and pboi
I've never seen Galen's dick. I've never seen Scott's dick. I'd rather see Scott's dick.
Galen Rupp is to Running what The Jonas Brothers are to Music.
well scott gets to see tim cannon's dick... you think that helps his running?
Scott Bauhs
Eagle Scout
progression in sport is not linear in the whole spectrum of one runner's improvements over their years
hahaha...
well chet you are obviously a self proclaimed intellectual so i am probably wasting your time but just in case there was any confusion you can look up this site
Who hasn't seen tim cannons dick.. Has Scott touched it yet, I doubt galen has.
