I personally think Carroll wont make top 30 and I think Ledwith has left his best race in NCAA (outstanding performance btw) so i think he'll be 22 - 30. Fagan will be top 3.
2 in the top 5 is dreaming!

I've no idea where Carroll will finish but he'll have to be in the top 15 to give Ireland a medal shot. Is it possible he'll be in the top 15 - yes. Will he for sure - no.
As to Ledwith - strong runner who, given Iona's crappy conference etc - has really only ran 2 or 3 tough races since September. I'm sure him and his coach will know what to do between now and Euros to ensure that he will perform well there. Again will be def be in the top 5 - no. Could he be there or there abouts - yes.
There is no way that Fagan is 20-30 seconds better than Ledwith just now.

Good win by Fagan in Manchester, he should be well up in the mix at Europeans. Also solid running by Carroll. Definitely a big improvement on his run at the Great South Run.
Has O' Lionaird definitely pulled out of mens u23 team? No updates on AAI site.
Any word on the 6th team member for the u23 women?
One of the US based girls? Roseanne G? Or next finisher in the trial?
Its Beetroot.
ledwith maximum top 15
fagan will medal. ledwith could if he hasn't left it all in the ncaa race. carroll: who knows?!

You do realise top 15 means 1st to 15th, so by maximum you should mean 1st. Otherwise, you should have said Ledwith 15th maximum.

I really think the Irish have a shot at a medal this year.
As you say Fagan looks like he will certainly improve on last year and Ledwith could also be in the top 10.
If you just have Carroll and one other having solid runs and finishing up in the top 15 - 20 I think that should be enough for a medal. It will all depend on how high up the top 10 the first 2 will be. 2 in the top 5 would be nice.
You were a bit off the mark with your predications!
FAGAN, Martin 24
MCCORMACK, Alan 32
MURRAY, Gary 36
LEDWITH, Andrew 37
CARROLL, Mark (42)
CHRISTIE, Mark (74)
Fagan was unlucky. Mo Farah "clever racing" put in a burst straight away after he fell and that killed off Fagan.
Alan McCormich and Muuray ran well.
Ledwith, as predicted left his best racing at NCAA's and rightly so. Athletics Ireland arent going to pay for his education!
Carroll probably did as best as could have been expected. I wouldnt have been happy if I had finished top 6 at the trials and he was on the team. So much for blooding the youth for the future!
Only chance Ireland will have of ever winning a medal at Euro Cross is if they can get Fagan, Cragg, Ledwith on the same team and the fourth placer whoever that would be runs the race of his life.
Oh and great race from Mary Cullen.
I second that - great run by Cullen.
Shocking runs by the rest of the team.
Fagan apparently not well before and fell so if thats true fair play for sticking to it. In shape he could be top 6 but don't think he would have medalled.
Why can't all the team wear matching kit as well. Proper comedy organisation from the Irish.
Anyone know why Quinn DNFed in the junior race. Was he spiked or something?

how bout that Keith Kelly guy he could always throw down in XC ?
Cragg is washed up, over the hill. He has done anything of worth recently and where was he at Euro XC?
Totally agree - I was way off with my predictions.
I consistently forget how much the NCAA season takes out of these guys. I remember when Keith Kelly came back for the Euros after winning NC's and i think he was outside the top 20.
Actually - i did not even see the whole race. What happened to Fagan? Did he fall? I was watching on the bbc - so i happened to turn it on with few mins to go and Cram and Foster were talking about how Farah was about to make his move - and then one minute later Lebid was 50 yards ahead. I know Foster supposedly does a lot for the sport (GNR etc - which he's well compensated for) but I really wish the bbc would get rid of that twat.
Olympic Final in the 5k - 3rd in London plus a couple of other good results.
Maybe not a regular top performer but still has the most impressive results of any current irish distance runner.
