It is truly amazing how many of these top 40 HS guys end up doing little or nothing after HS. There are lot's of HS kids training way over their heads to get to this level in HS and there is no where for them to go once they leave.
First two question's any college caoch should ask a recruit is how do you train and how long have you been running seriously?
You have nop idea what you are talking about.
THe top 10 at Footlocker (including the regional winners) typically all eventually are NCAA All-Americans at least once.
Usually one or two in the top ten win a NCAA individual championship.
After that it doesn't even matter. The difference between the 4 to 8 place finishers at Regionals and 500 other kids just behind them is so tiny the eventual success rate among both groups is identical.
Some kids run a lot of miles to make it to Footlocker. This doesn't hurt their chances at college in the least. If they were super talented they wouldn't need to train as hard. By doing so they are giving them a greater shot to compete at the higher levels in the present and future.
